How distant is it to you? What do you consider close combat? melee range? or 2 steps out of melee range?
I consider it the RRR of the assault rifle. Any further and it’s mid-range.
Between Shotgun range and BR range, I guess.
Close Combat is shotgun 2-shot range. I think 7m (23’)
Short is about 15m (49.2’) max.
Mid ends at DMR unscoped RRR max, 38.4m (126’).
Extreme long range would start where the x2 scopes end their RRR, 61.2m (200.8’).
I guess meleee needs to be a factor in order for it to be close combat.
I think I conform most closely to the shotgun 2-shot definition. AR RRR is a bit too far for me… close means I should be able to smack someone with relative ease.

Yep, IMO the AR has way too much range for it to be called Close Combat. It’s current Aim Assist ruins it too much.
The AR is supposed to be an “all-purpose” weapon, however we know it’s not, the BR and/or DMR are more so that.
