Now we know sprint is in Halo 4, there is no changing that unless its excluded in certain playlists.
What I am worried about is if they made it so that crouching requires you to click the movement stick in while standing still and to sprint you have to click it while moving.
The main reason I dont play CoD, BF, or Borderlands much is because I dont like clicking the left stick in to sprint, it feels awkward to me.
Now, some of these features from GI are sounding like CoD rip offs, I agree with that.
BUT if we have to click the left stick in to sprint (another mechanic that CoD is known for), that would literally be the only reason I wouldnt play MM. I know that sounds extreme but I have seen people say they are not even going to rent it because they cant play as elites in MM.
Wow I was going to make a thread about the same thing like 10 seconds before I clicked on this thread…
I actually feel the exact opposite way about this.
I really want them to implement that button layout into Halo 4. Considering sprint is now a default ability, this seems like the only way to really make it default… because there will be other armor abilities equipped at the same time…
There is really no other way they could do this because I don’t know of a single soul who would opt to use the awkward d-pad for armor abilities… that would just be awful.
You dont like the game due to clicking a stick?..really? No offense but I do find that very extreme… (Besides, in reach I had it to where i had to hit the left bumper, RECON, and that was perfect)
And for the love of God (not really flaming you here) SPRINTING IS NOT CoD’s BABY!!! CoD, BF, and almost everygame I’ve played recently has sprint! And guess what, you activate it by clicking the stick
(once again, not attacking you, just stating how silly I think it is and being related to CoD) And why do people find it odd that a billion dollar supersoldier can sprint whenever they damn well please?
And I guess you could fix the problem with custom button layouts xP

When you use those little faces, it makes me think you are a child.
Its a matter of taste, to me clicking the left stick in while moving it forward feels wrong. I just hope I dont have to play Halo 4 like it was BF or CoD.

Thats totally cool, like I said Im not trying to attack you, I just personally find it silly to not enjoy a game due to a very small factor to the whole game. So we shall agree to disagree
(And Im 17, I just like emoticons (like you dont like clicking) it makes me feel like I have feelings and not just words on a screen haha)

But that is exactly my point, I cant enjoy it if I am constantly having to click the stick in just to sprint, it takes away from my experience.
I just hope that its not standard to use the stick to sprint, otherwise i will be bummed out.
i dont want sprint in reach but what can i do? i hope they do it like the recon set up in reach, have it on the left bumper where grenade change was on halo 3 default

Perhaps they will make sprint (left bumper?) and have AA (X?) thats what i believe would be best in your case Id have sprint on the stick and AA on the LB
I assume that the Sprint ability would be set on LB, as on Reach. If it is set on the Left-thumbstick, that would be really weird and wouldn’t feel like Halo and more of, “CoD in Space”.
