So yesterday Lethul was streaming and his chat was filled with trolls, no surprise Twitch chat filled with trolls, and they were arguing about the bad things in Halo 5. To which Lethul replied this.
He also said, “As a community guys we’re the most sad humans…we need to get happy”.
Interesting to hear his thoughts about the game and community.
All games have their flaws. The Halo community has trouble letting go of nostalgia. Believe me there are things I’d change but there are a bunch of people who just need to accept developers go for current market trends. Like it or not. We need more constructive criticisms not just boo hoo this isn’t Halo 3.
He said “It’s always the same opinion.”
I wonder then…? Maybe there really is something wrong with Halo 5? LOL.

Most people are constructive. And that’s an interesting statement, because a little game called Overwatch isn’t following any market FPS trends and has a lot more people playing than Halo 5 on Xbox. Makes me wonder if there really is a trend or just a lack of direction. Lol.

Well not everyone goes 100% with market trends but most say hey look at X doing Y…let’s adapt our game to that. A lot of FPS’s base their games off the CoD model now, unfortunately. Sure people are going to break the mold…CE did that. Then CoD came along. I’m sure if Battlefield One is a game-changer things will go that direction. Just like with movies now most just feed off others.

This is the same man who said halo 5’s aiming is -Yoink- and that many pros including him -Yoink- about it every other day to 343.

Overwatch also has a fraction of the content Halo 5 has, huge hitboxes, ect and the community for that game isn’t filled with negativity. Its also a fresh new game that’s multi-platform. Its from a hugely popular developer Blizzard, which has 2 of the most popular games going right now, WoW and Hearthstone. If Overwatch was basically a Halo 5 clone it would outsell Halo 5.
If anything Overwatch is an example of what a decent community can do for your sales. If Halo 5 had released with 3 game modes, 12 maps, and no single player the community would literally turn into ISIS. For months before and after release there were TONS of terrible youtube video’s complaining about features or lack of features in Halo 5, very few constructive, most was complaining, and much of which was just false information; like people saying Halo 5 has more auto aim than any other game in the series.
Halo 5 has the highest player retention since Halo 3, and that’s after years of declining popularity. Halo 5 is definitely doing something right, its not perfect, but its good.

He never said the game is perfect, the aiming in Halo 3 was even worse for example, but many people liked Halo 3. He said Halo 5 isn’t as bad as people say and its not a bad game.

Yeah…No,halo 3 had issues, like the fact that a 5 year old could’ve designed a better hit registration system for online play but aim was not a problem.I do agree that halo 5 isn’t as bad as people say.

It wasn’t just online, the Halo 3 hit registration was so bad that even on lan it was bad. I remember pro’s yelling “This game is trash” at a few events.

Halo 5 having the highest player retention since Halo 3 is just propaganda. That statement was made like 4 months after release. 10 Months after release, and Halo 5 has around the same population has Halo Reach does now, which is what? 5 years after release? Halo Reach was in the top 5 played games for over a year, and was in the top 10 for over 2 years. Halo 5 fell out of the top 10 within a few months of its release.
The statement of Halo 5 having the highest player retention since Halo 3 carries no relevance whatsoever. And that recent statement about Unique Users carries even less relevance. Lol. I do believe the statement that there are more people playing in the past few months, but guess what? Halo 5’s main playerbase is literally teenagers and college students, so of course the population will generally be up for Halo 5 in the summer.
You want to know what ruins a community? The company that makes the franchise. Don’t alienate anybody in your community and it’ll thrive.
So far, Halo 4 and Halo 5 have done just that: Alienate large portions of the community. MCC did it too, just by not working properly. To this day it has game breaking bugs.

Halo 5 is a great game as far as mp is concerned and that’s all I play it for so it’s pretty fun.
Of course the super competitive pro player says that Halo 5 isn’t as bad as people say, the game was literally built for him. From a purely competitive gameplay perspective, the game is fantastic, no argument with that.
But what about us social players? The campaign players? The cooperative multiplayer people? Or those of us who enjoyed the variety of past titles? Halo 5 is not a game where you can come home after a long day of work, sit back, and have a good time. You either go in being fully determined to play at your best at all times with a team and be super competitive in a small selection of gametypes/game modes, or you go in and have a bad time.
Back in the days of Halo 3 and Halo Reach, I could spend a whole day playing because there was so much for me to do. Real social playlists, ranked playlists, Action Sack, Infection, Invasion, good BTB, Multi-Team, Snipers, classic Firefight (including custom games where I could change the settings to my liking), a variety of objective gametypes (1-bomb, 1-flag, KotH, Oddball, Headhunter), Rocket Race… No matter what, there was something different to do. Halo 5 has none of these. After maybe an hour of playing, I get tired of the lack of variety in Halo 5, since I’ve done it all so much before, and move on to something else. Halo 5 is competitive, sure, but it is not a good, fun experience.
I believe halo 5 has its faults in both campaign and multiplayer but it’s still a great game but so had every other halo game.
. Halo 4 was criticised due to a complicated plot and a codified multiplayer and linear level design.
. Halo Reach was criticised for the introduction of armour abilities (especially armour lock) and ignoring events with the novel Fall of Reach.
. ODST was criticised because of a short campaign and for not being a full game
. 3 was pretty much perfect. My only issue with it was that 343 killed Johnson at the end of the game which was totally uncalled for.
. 2 was criticised for the introduction of the arbiter and an unfinished campaign.
. CE was criticised for too many copy and pasted rooms in the campaign which felt lazy and repetitive.
The guy who has made 100 of thousands of dollars off of H5 likes h5?
Wow, that’s surprising.
Give the harshest H5 critics 300,000+ dollars to play H5 and I bet they’d love it too.
Hell give me 300,000 to play superman 64 and it’d become my favourite game of all time.

“Halo 5 has the highest player retention since Halo 3”
A clever way of saying the population is so low we can’t even release numbers.
I would think Halo 5 wasn’t as bad if I could use it to pay off my car too.

Overwatch is following a ton of market trends, most notably the MOBA/Hero-based game trend that’s been taking the industry by storm lately.

That statement was made a month ago by Bravo on Reddit, here is a link to it. I don’t think you have any idea what you’re talking about, but it sounds like you’ve watched a youtube video about it…

This is too accurate.
