So in halo 5 we got halo ce magnum and the halo 2 beam rifle. Well in halo 6 I want all the classic weapons from every classic game including ODST and reach
I would rather have a sandbox that is full of unique and interesting weapons rather than one that is full of reskins for the sake of nostalgia. Classic weapons as seen in something like H5 are bottom of the barrel priority for me.
I would only ever want to see them as DLC and even then only after we have a core sandbox that isn’t filled to the brim with clone weapons.
Some as alternative skins some as actual individual weapons.
For example the beam rifle has two versions that look pretty different but function exactly the same so they should be skins that can be swapped in forge (and warzone if it returns)
The rocket launcher also has two designs but in halo 5 they function slightly differently, one having a faster rocket and the other (I think) has a bugger blast radius. However those differences are quite small so I think it should be skin only and function should be the same. Same with the battle rifle.
Something like the magnum however can be different, there’s been the monster CE magnum that can be a power weapon, the flimsy H2 magnum that H5’s gunfighter resembles and Halo 3 onwards.
What I’m saying is if there was a significant gameplay difference that can be built upon or modified to make it stand out to another rendition then yes have it as a separate weapon. If the gameplay difference is minor then it should only be visual.
Should REQ weapons return I feel they need an actual design to them. Example, the ad victorian fires 3 rockets at once so the Spnkr could have three barrels and fire once before reloading instead on one barrel magically launching 3 explosives at the same time. Or imagine the pool of radiance fuel rod cannon, revamp the CE version and give its projectiles the an AOE
Well, the default ones should be close to original iterations whiles some new guns are added to add variation, simple way to implement somewhat classic guns.
As for additional more close to the original classic versions in addition to default options, no thanks.
