We don’t have a confirmation. We have a “maybe down the line, never say never.”
There’s about an equal chance of them adding the classic shotgun and Magnum as there is of them adding playable Elites in a post-launch update.
To the point of the thread though, I see weapon skins being extremely likely. And one I definitely see happening is an MA5 skin for the Assault Rifle. So you’ll get the classic look, but it will still perform exactly the same.
I know the Reach grenade launcher isn’t “classic” per say, but I’d love to see it return

Oh the idea of some classic weapons being skins is actually kinda cool, imagine launching into slayer with a H3AR as opposed to the HIAR

Sorry for the second quote but when discussing content updates, specifically changes in the arsenal im pretty sure i remember one of them saying something along the lines of “we’ll be seeing some weapons never seen before, some weapons will have stat changes, and some weapons from previous games”
I would love to see some classic weapons return, whether they be as skins or actual new weapons. I think the classic shotgun will probably be more likely to return first, and it’d be cool if they made a mode where everyone just ran around with the Halo CE magnum and just went crazy. It’d be cool if they also made the classic magnum as a power weapon so it could be used in regular ranked arena as well. That way it would be balanced in the sense that not every one could have it and it would make sense for it to three shot people because it is a power weapon.

I know this might be impossible, but I would like to see the classic shotgun, either Reach style or H2A.

It’s definitely not impossible to add it. The Bulldog shotgun fits a different niche than the original, being more in line with the AR and BR than the classic the shotgun.
If it does come back, it should function more like Reach and 4: able to kill in 1 shot from several feet away rather than requiring a follow-up melee for 80% of kills.
seeing the ma5k carbine make an in-game appearance as a weapon variant or something would be cool
