Since they brought back the classic Halo 2 Battle Rifle, I thought they could add more classic weapons to the game. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the Halo 1 Magnum is already in the works; here are a few other possibilities.
All of these weapons would be available in Warzone, as well in Custom Games and Forge.
Halo 2 SMG (Uncommon/REQ Level 4) - Loadout weapon based on the original M7 SMG from Halo 2 and Halo 3. Uses the H2: Anniversary model, but original Halo 2 sound effects. Can be dual-wielded.
Halo 2 Magnum (Uncommon/REQ Level 2) - Loadout weapon based on the M6C Magnum from Halo 2. Uses the H2: Anniversary model, but the original Halo 2 sound effects. Can be dual-wielded.
Halo 1 Assault Rifle (Mythic/REQ Level 2) - Classic Assault Rifle from Halo: Combat Evolved. Uses Halo 5 model minus the green trim and white stripe down the middle. Holds 60 rounds, higher fire rate, longer range than the standard Assault Rifle.
Halo 4 Battle Rifle (Rare/REQ Level 3) - The Battle Rifle as it appeared in Halo 4, outfitted with a short-range scope. Uses Halo 4 Battle Rifle model and colors, but has Halo 5 sound effects.
Grenade Launcher (Rare/REQ Level 8) - The grenade launcher from Halo: Reach, exactly as it appeared in that game.
Halo: Reach Sniper Rifle (Mythic/REQ Level 8) - Based on the Halo: Reach variant of the sniper rifle. Comes with armor-piercing capabilities and increased damage to vehicles.
Plasma Rifle (Uncommon/REQ Level 2) - The classic Plasma Rifle, which has the performance of the original version from Halo: Combat Evolved. Uses the Halo: Reach model. Can be dual-wielded.
Focus Rifle (Rare/REQ Level 7) - Covenant sniper weapon from Halo: Reach similar to the Sentinel Beam.
Brute Spiker (Uncommon/REQ Level 2) - The sub-machinegun type weapon used by the Brutes in Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. Uses the Halo: Reach model. Can be dual-wielded.
Brute Shot*( Uncommon/REQ Level 6)* - The bladed grenade launcher used by the Brutes in Halo 2 and Halo 3. Standard version would be based on the Halo 2 variant. Rare and Legendary version would be based on the Halo 3 variant.
Gravity Hammer (Uncommon/REQ Level 4) - The Gravity Hammer from the past four Halo games. Uses the model and sound effects of the Halo: Reach version.
Dual-wielding with H2 Magnum, H2 SMG, Plasma Rifle, and Brute Spiker would work the same as in Halo 2; hold the X button to pick up a weapon in your right hand, hold the Y button to pick up a weapon in your left hand. Unlike Halo 2 and Halo 3, you’d be able to switch weapons while dual-wielding without dropping your left-hand weapon; tap the Y button to switch weapons, or hold it to drop your left-hand weapon.
Dual-wielding would be limited to these classic weapons; you would not be able to dual wield the Halo 5 version of the Magnum or SMG.
Also, why just classic weapons? How about some classic vehicles too? These would also be available in Forge as well as Warzone:
Classic Warthog*(Legendary/REQ Level 2)* - Warthog variant with greatly increased armor and more damage resistance for occupants. Turret does not overheat. Uses the Halo: Reach model and sound effects.
Classic Gauss’ Hog*(Legendary/REQ Level 6)* - Gauss Warthog variant with greatly increased armor and more damage resistance for occupants. Gauss cannon has increased fire rate. Uses the Halo: Reach model and sound effects.
Classic Rocket 'Hog*(Legendary/REQ Level 6)* - Rocket Warthog variant with greatly increased armor and more damage resistance for occupants. Missiles can lock on to enemy infantry as well as vehicles. Uses the Halo: Reach model and sound effects.
Brute Chopper*(Rare/REQ Level 4)* - Hybrid Brute scout vehicle from Halo 3 armed with heavy cannons.
