I’m honestly hoping that 343i brings back the warthog’s classic tri-barrel mounted turret, neck-mounted ammunition supply box, and octagonal body shield into Halo Infinite. With the warthog today, the turret just feels big and bulky. It has five barrels instead of three and now has a square body shield instead of an octagonal one like in the past. It doesn’t even have an ammo box on the turret’s neck anymore, it’s just a belt of bullets coming out from one end of the gun into another. Where the hell are all of those bullets coming from, and where are all of them even being stored?!?! And it’s not just in sensible logic, but gameplay wise as well. With the warthog in the past, the octagonal shield covered a player’s entire front body with the exception of the elbow tips, visor area/above of helmet, and the barely visible edges of the knees as the entire player’s body is covered and protected by the octagonal shield and ammo box. With the present warthog, the square shield is tiny and there is no ammo box mounted on the turret’s neck. The spartan is practically exposed completely on the gun except for his waist and torso. In the past when you were on the warthog’s gun, you were pretty much fully protected and could be on the turret for entire rounds if the vehicle wasn’t getting blasted by explosives and 50 cal. bullets. Players would always have the most difficult time even hitting the player with precision weapons as their bullets would be blocked by the octagonal shield. All while with the present warthog, if you’re on the turret, you’re a goner as your spartan is so exposed without any cover that players commonly and are easily able to headshot you off of the turret. It seems as if players are only on the turret for two minutes before getting killed off the back in no time. Not to forget about the present gunfire now. It’s just too out of place for me. Also, the old warthog’s shield was damageable and destructible which was a nice touch. What about all of you? What do you guys think about this?
Agree! give me the old warthog gun!

One thing I actually found interesting about the original turret in CE was that it became less and less accurate the longer you held down the trigger. It was a cool mechanic and prevented the gunner from being too powerful imo. Now it seems to be laser accurate, which means there’s no downside to just holding down the trigger aside from overheating. While overheating does balance out the precision, the realism behind the gun becoming less accurate and harder to handle when going “cyclic” was very cool to me.
