I thought I didn’t care about these little things, but I have to admit, this does sound better to me. I hope 343i do return to the old sounds. I feel that some of the changes to the little things were done for little to no reason, other than giving the new Halos “their feel and style”. That’s fine and all, but don’t impose that on an established series.
The Magnum sounds a lot more “beefy”.
Not a fan of the old thruster sound effect, but, I gotta say, I kinda prefer it with the older effects.
I prefer the older sounds too.
I like that a lot, especially the Magnum. I assume they’d use/imitate Reach’s DMR sound.

I don’t like how gutless the BR, DMR, and Magnum all sound, especially at a distance. And for some reason it bugs me to no end when I hear the distant crackle of BR and Magnum fire, they just sound like firecrackers and not the beefy weapons they used to sound like.
I would absolutely love to toggle between the old and new sound effects.
