I have seen alot of people posting about the classic playlists, and how they think they should be. I am going to say how i think they should be, and im pretty sure i know how it should go down.
First off, types of playlists:
-Lone wolves (slayer, KOTH, oddball)
-Team Slayer
-BTB (slayer, CTF, Assault, territories)
-Team Objective
-Multi team?
Feel free to put in some suggestions
How the Classic playlist should work
-No loadouts
-No Armour abilities
-No tactical or support packages (including specializations)
-AR, magnum, and frag starts for all modes
-BR, AR, and frag starts for BTB
-Starting weapons on the map (like DMR, carbine, etc)
-Map power ups
-No infinity slayer
-Re-supply grenades built in
-Sprint off (depends on balance)
-Bloom STAYS (its only barely present on the DMR and pistol which helps balance, as well as automatic weapons, which also helps balance them)
-No changes to weapon kill times unless they are changed in a game TU. (making certain weapons stronger could ruin balance)
-No instant spawns
-Regular weapon drops (not the new ordnance system)

Not AR/Magnum. Should be BR/AR, with DMR/AR for BTB.
Sprint staying is fine, especially since the maps are “designed with it in mind.”
Weapons drop like old games, not based on the Ordinance system.

maybe there could be a mode for starting with BRs.

Always been?
Halo CE had AR/Pistol. This was okay, because the Pistol was the utility weapon.
Halo 2 had SMG starts, which were quickly replaced with BR starts. Bungie stated they knew SMG starts were a mistake.
Halo 3 featured both BR and AR starts.
Reach features both AR and DMR starts.
Considering the Magnum is a worthless standalone weapon, and the AR is a close-range niche weapon, they shouldn’t be default spawn weapons. The BR is much more versatile and sensible as a spawn weapon. While on BTB, there are larger maps and longer lines of sight; a DMR much better suits it.
