WARNING: Be prepared to be told to “Play MCC”

No prepare to be told “Play MCC”.
Bdobbins makes good points but more importantly many fans have been asking for this for a while. A playlist with custom maps and no Spartan abilities would at the very least bring matchmaking variety. I’m sure Forgers would gladly contribute appropriate maps to match classic Halo. But 343 wont listen, H5 is a lost cause at this point.

If they did add a classic playlist to H5 I would definitely play H5 more.

it seems surprising that there wasn’t one at launch

Easily the most rational and reasonable video from him, and he’s pretty much correct. Catering to your entire playerbase rather than one portion of it is the way to run a game franchise. I wonder how Halo’s resurgence in the eSport scene has impacted this though?

I fixed it, added a warning. lol

I completely agree with this guy. 343 has nothing to lose by bringing a classic playlist but they have everything to gain.

Agreed. We veteran players matter, and want to enjoy play Halo again.

I’m all for a classic playlist, and I’ve said many times that it’s a no-brainer for them. The Forge community would surely help them out by making/adjusting remakes to work with whatever setting is gleaned as being the closest to the classic flavor. They could also make some forge adjustments to the developer maps, if need be.

Only thing that might prove troublesome is that the Hydra and the Plasma Caster can be almost unstoppable without the Spartan Abilities. There might be other weapons as well that might need to be cut or supplanted with different ones if this were to work.

Yes see 343 has everything to gain by catering to old school fans as well

I agree and have been saying since before launch that they should at least have tested a Classic game mode for the players that don’t want Sprint and ArmourAbilities. I personally don’t mind them at this point because I play each Halo game for different reasons. I even Loved BTB in Halo 4. Not so much in Halo 5.

But we can’t even get regular play lists added with the game modes they already have now that they brought back. So I have no faith in them adding a play lists that does not include their new creations to the series. I mean, when you look at what was missing from the game, and still is, does anyone think that there is any chance that they would ever add a Classic play list?

So then don’t use them. It’s a classic playlist so they should use only classic weapons. No caster, no Hydra, no storm rifle, no rail gun, no saw, no promethian weapon at all, no t shirt cannon rocket launcher only the spnkr, no halo 5 br’s only halo 2 br’s, did I miss any?

My problem with such playlists is that the game has several rules to it that are based around Sprint, such as aim assist, bullet magnetism, etc. Some of those can’t be changed without causing other issues to the rest of the game. And there is the fact that releasing classic playlists in past games has never worked.

I think you hit it. I would vommit if I had to use that god awful looking H5 BR in a classic playlist

Ohh but it has worked. The sprint haters get what they want. Sprint lovers get what they want. It’s a win win.

Why thank you.

Halo 4’s “classic playlist” still had sprint it

An example of a reason why I said “it never worked”. They don’t fully think things through. When Halo 4 had hype for a classic playlist, turns out, the playlist still has sprint. Halo Reach: Anniversary multiplayer doesn’t have many people playing it, although I’m willing to think that has to do with it being essentially DLC in nature, and having several Reach inconsistencies, like Bloom.

It just all goes back to how incompetent and lazy 343 is.

I’ve been waiting since Halo 4 for a classic Halo feeling game. I just don’t know if 343i will deliver.

I wouldn’t hold your breath. They feel the need to make their own “Vision” of Halo instead of building off the success of Halo 2 and Halo 3 laid out.
