anyone remember reach when it came out? the classic playlist was compltely garbage. hopefully halo 4 gives us an actually good one. im only going to be playing classic because i hater perks and stuff lol… so ya they better get it right!
the original classic playlist for reach was not so much based on weapon damage but more on movements. 343 hasn’t really confirmed anything new on matchmaking but you can only hope.

Since everyone seems to have different ideas about what’s “classic” Halo, a “classic” playlist is dead. Halo CE, 2 or 3 gameplay?
Same weapons/damage, or Halo 4 weapons/damage but the old movement? if not, which old game to use as base?
No matter how they do it, it will never be the same, play the same or feel the same way as the old games. Hence, it shouldn’t be called classic, rename it “barebone” or “pro” or some other term, that better describes a lighter gametype with focus on weapons and not perks/AAs, without promising “the revival of Halo CE/2/3”

Um, there was no classic playlist when Reach came out. It was originally just a no-AAs gametype that was thrown into the Team Slayer playlist.
After months of feedback, Bungie decided to introduce the Team Classic playlist which made things a little more like the Halo 2/3 style we were used to. Then when 343i took over for Bungie they decided to re-do the classic playlist (in celebration of the 10th anniversary) to be a little more truer to Halo 1 than Halo 2/3 (which fits Reach’s style better anyway).
Halo 4 is going to fit the Halo 2/3 style much better than Reach did so classic Halo should be back in full force with Halo 4. As long as we get a few more playlists this time around than just one.
I don’t think it was confirmed that there will be a Classic playlist since Classic Halo is different in everyone’s eyes, but Frankie said there will be a playlists that is stripped down to the basics. Think CoD’s Barebones playlist. It will play like Halo 4, but without perks, AA’s, loadouts, etc.
Before you run off to the “classic” playlists immediately. Give the newer ones a chance at least. If you hate them after you play them a few times then thats your opinion. But don’t go into a game with the assumption that they are terrible and not fun, just give it a fighting chance before you dismiss them.

Why should he or I? I haven’t liked any other games with perks and loadouts. I don’t think any game is going to change that, with or without Halo in it’s title. Im a hardcore gamer, and don’t like noobish-games you see.
