seems to have
Seems to have X2
Yup looks like it. Should be fun!
Ya he seemed to have. Unfortunately I think this is WAY too late for most people
If by classic 343I mean they are removing Spartan Abilities, the current maps won’t really work due to they are designed for them. Which means they will be forge maps. As I’m sure the maps are well produced, most people won’t like that. I think this playlist won’t do well and isn’t really a good indicator as too how many people like “classic” gameplay. It should of been out the first day or at least the first month.
This said, It’s neat that they are doing something and who knows what there playlist will entail. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Yeah I agree. Although I like that we are getting a classic playlist I feel that it should have been in the game at launch. I have seen some classic map forge remakes and some of them are really cool and play just like the original. At least we’re still getting a classic playlist…
Pretty cool if real, but i expect a few likely shortcomings for this to be a “real” classic playlist.
First, they’re going to have to boost the base movement speed. I’m sure they can do this, and i hope they don’t forget it.
Second, they’re going to have to reengineer the grenades to give back the kinetic blast effect that makes grenade jumping possible. I do not expect them to do this.
I get the feeling that they’re going to forget to remove a few spartan abilities, like clamber, or zoom stabilizers. Maybe not though…
Actually, it might not be a bad thing if they keep clamber but also have it remove a player’s shields if used. That way it would be similar to the risk/reward from grenade jumping. It definitely lacks the skill, but at least it would make certain heights obtainable like in the classic games.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, it’s going to lack the proper Paper-Rock-Scissors weapon balance. Unless they’re planning on reengineering many weapons, the classic playlist won’t have the proper counter-weapon balance (e.g. the needler used to have looooong distance homing abilities, which made it the proper counter against the sniper. Or the shotgun, which used to always beat the sword in a joust, not achieve mutual destruction like now). This is also something that’s not going to happen, and this is going to be game breaking because the win is going to go strictly to whomever has the strongest power weapon, and that player will not be dethroned until he runs out of ammo.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to trying it. But to be a true classic playlist they will need to do MUCH more than just remove the spartan abilities.
This is dumb. Most of the maps in H5 don’t work for “Classic” Halo. Go back to the Mcc to play old halos
I want the basic, no-ability gameplay to become mainstream as much as the next guy, but it certainly won’t work on most of Halo 5’s maps. Truth, Eden, Fathom, and Mercy, as a few examples, are completely built around sprint and the other advanced movement options. Other maps could work a little better, but most of the maps have large open areas presumably designed for gameplay with sprint in mind. For a classic playlist to work the best, it would need almost exclusively smaller, less open Forge maps, which I’m not opposed to at all. Contrary to how I feel about BTB, I think 4v4 needs more Forge maps in the rotation, even if they’re only in one playlist.
But this is just considering the adjustment of map size for a lack of sprint and advanced movement. Many other small things would need to be tweaked, too, and I’m not sure if 343 would do anything aside from simply removing abilities.

I disagree. Its just that they will flow differently. But that is not necessarily bad, just different. If you are capable of adapting, it should not be an issue for you.

Are you not capable of adapting? I grow tired of the argument that whatever map won’t work with a given mechanic. What works and what does not it strictly a matter of opinion. If you are capable of adapting, its not an issue. If you strictly have only one playstyle, you will suffer. But that is not the game’s or maps fault only yours in your weakness.
Additionally, If you don’t like the gametype its simple. DON"T FREAKING PLAY IT. See how simple that is. IT will either be really popular or nobody will play it. If nobody plays it then no harm is done. If its popular then it tells 343 that it should be included in H6. Everybody wins.
They could use these Evolved Settings as a baseline and tweak the weapons, but knowing 343 they’ll just remove spartan abilities and call it good.

Nice. It is as simple as it just won’t work. The maps are created around Sprint/ability usage. This may have few players, but it won’t last unless the mode has its own maps.

theyll probably add the ce magnum to ce maps, h2br to h2 maps, and use the h2 beam rifle since it has less magnetism than its h5 counterparts.
who know 343 might decide to make the classic update in december and advertise it to bring people back.
so we are now getting a classic playlist more than a year after the games release? not really something to cheer about

You are looking at the cup half empty when you should be really looking at the cup half full. Just be grateful that 343 listened to the community about a classic playlist. They could have been worse if they gave us a bare bones game and decided not to update it. You can still give constructive criticism on it being late, but be thankful that it even came at all. Happy Early Thanksgiving!

No, I’d say he’s more of a messenger and organizer. He relays information from 343 to us and vice versa and he organizes community things. In this instance, he let us know that a classic playlist is coming.
it took 343 a year to take out sprint for a playlist slow clap x2 well ill be dead by the time they add playable elites… Hopefully my kids will enjoy playing as an elite.
