Classic maps not from Halo games

Most people says that Halo 2 or Halo 3 had perfect maps, some people even says that Halo CE had some good maps (which I totally disagree), but are there people who remember real multiplayer fps classics like Quake or UT? I must say Halo 4 brings me memories of those with it’s speed and variety of weapons. I think there are some maps, that could be just as playable in Halo 4, as they where 15 years ago. I would really come back to some like:
The Edge (q2dm1) - my favorite map from Quake 2. It was good for 1-on-1 duels, but was perfect for up to 8 players. 4v4 Slayer on this one would be a blast.
Deck 16 - evergreen of Unreal deathmatch. Just imagine precission rifles on those hallways.
Curse - another very fine map from Unreal universe. With lots of places to hide and ambush, it would be perfect for automatic weapons (or Boltshot camping, until someone fixes that weapon…).
Claustrophobopolis (q1dm2) - it was one of Quake’s 1 biggest maps, so 4v4 should fit fine. Recreating all those traps would be tricky (at least using Forge), but it would bring new level of strategy into Halo’s Team Slayer.
Anyone has some other classic maps in mind? One’s that would be cool see in Halo 4 Forgeworld? I mentioned only those, which are official and suitable for at least 4v4 Slayer (there was tons of great maps, which I think, would be too small for Halo, like q1dm4 or q1dm6). Maybe something less known maps from “good old days”?

lol i think those maps will be copyrighted since its made by another company.

But if halo 4 had de_dust2, that would just be epic lol

Deck 16. >.< Oh the memories.

I think no company would care about fan-made remakes.

OOOh yey.
Anyone Remember Deck17 from UT 2004 and the map with 3 skyscapers in space (Morpheus2 maybe) . Also the map with 2 huge towers with 3 thin paths connecting them, cant remember the name.

I think Matador is 12 judging by content of posts I’ve seen.
Anyways, I want to see some -Yoink!- Complex.

OP I thought the very same thing when I first played Halo 4, it heavily reminded me of Quake! I loved Edge and think it would be an interesting Halo game on such a map. Great thinking.

It was probably called Face. I didn’t liked that map, but it shows how strong was UT’s impact on Halo. It was clearly inspiration for Gephyrophobia (Halo PC map), which later evolved into Halo 3’s Narrows.
