Since I wasn’t able to play almost the entire time the classic helmet time period was up I couldn’t earn the ridiculous req point price of 100k (and I was definitely not willing to give 343 anymore money) is there a way to get them now that the event is over?
I see that they are rare helmets so I tried buying silver packs and it didn’t work it just refunded me 3k.

We knew at least a month ahead of time that these helmets would be dropping. I will be blunt and say it really is bad planning on your part if you didn’t save up in anticipation of that. Yes, it was a lot of Req points, 150,000 to be exact, and given your emblem you clearly are not opposed to grinding some FF. Why didn’t you sell your Reqs?
I get that it sucks you missed it, but if it was really a priority for you you would have made it so. Instead of calling 343 out for still keeping the pack available for those of you who didn’t want to grind for it just accept it and move on. It will be available again for down the road.

They gave us a month to prepare to get req points and it was out for awhile. It is not 343’s fault, it is your own.
I actually have a question relating to it as well; so it’s still in the store, but is there any way I can gift it to someone, or was that nixed when it dropped out of the ingame req menu? I want to get a friend of mine a gift for helping me out recently.

I don’t think that’s entirely fair. We don’t know what was going on in OP’s life. That being said, it’s not 343’s fault either. I don’t think 150, 000 RP was that much, honestly (it only took me a few weeks of on and off WZ play to get it). I’m sure, like almost all other promotional packs, they’ll be available again in one form or another, so I wouldn’t be too worried.

I had absolutely no trouble getting enough REQ points to save up for the helmets, and I played maybe once or twice per week. If you played more than that, you definitely could have gotten the 150k REQ points in the two months since the announcement. As soon as I saw that we would be getting classic helmets, I started saving up in case we needed to spend RP on them.
You had ample time to save up, it’s not 343i’s fault that you didn’t. That being said, you’ll be glad to know that the pack will be coming back to the REQ store for RP at some point in the future. I suggest that you start saving up now so that you can purchase it when it returns.

If you buy it from the store, I imagine you should be able to gift it to someone.
