Classic Halo playlist in Halo 5

I’d really like to see classic Halo playlist in Halo 5,before I start I know 343 made MCC for old fans to enjoy old Halo but I think it would be intresting to see classic Halo playlist in Halo 5.

We would be able to enjoy classic Halo experience with Halo 5 flavor to it and still be able to play with our friends without changing games every 10 mins when your buddies are calling you to make and epic Halo 5 team with them and you are on MCC.

Classic playlist would not have spring, ground pound or any type of ablities, no icons on the screen showing where power weapons are just raw Halo, but there is a problem there,Halo 5 was desinged to be played with spring and evade abilites so maybe some maps would become boring or maybe even big.

I wouldn’t mind having a beta stage of this playlist to test all maps and slowly remove any maps that may not work with this playlist.

Do you guys agree would you like to see playlist like this?

It would be pretty interesting to see, and I can safely assume a lot of people who would like to have the older gameplay experience would flock there. It could be fun if it was added, so lets see if it actually gets added eventually.

I’d like to see it added. I wouldn’t play it but I’d love to see how many people would.

i wouldnt care if they added one, i probably wouldnt play it more then a couple times. that said even if they do add it people would still complain but instead of it being sprint ruins the game it would be the maps are to big, or i cant make a jump cuz theres no clamber thanks 343

Nah, not if it would be as a regular or standard playlist because like you said MCC for that plus given the fact that 343i will likely limit the amount of available playlists to choose from I’d rather have one of several other playlists to choose from as a standard offering than a so-called “classic” playlist which would also require custom maps; however, as a rotational playlist I don’t see a problem with adding something like it if that’s what a lot of people are clamoring for.

As I’m hoping to see the Playlists breakdown for Halo 5:

  • Warzone (Will they introduce additional variants?)

  • BTB (Hoping it includes Slayer, Regicide, SWAT, Dominion, CTF, Conversion, Extraction, & KotH)

  • Flood (It should contain several different sorts of Infected variants)

  • The Arena: (10 playlists with no JIP and mostly Team-Based Ranks)

  • HCS (eSports) - Slayer - Breakout - CTF - Objective (Strongholds & Ricochet for sure; perhaps Extraction, Oddball, and/or KotH too) - SWAT - Snipers - Grifball - Doubles - Lone Wolf (The only Individual-Based Ranking Playlist within the Arena)

  • Rotational Playlist 1: (Slayer-Based and rotating every 2 weeks)- Action Sack

  • Regicide

  • Headhunters (revamped into a more traditional Kill-Confirm gametype)

  • Squad Slayer

  • Big Team Heavies

  • Multi-Team Slayer

  • Rumble Pit [FFA]

  • Juggernaut [FFA]

  • “Classic” Slayer?

  • Community Slayer

  • Rotational Playlist 2: (Nonslayer- Based and also rotating every 2 weeks, but offset from the Slayer Rotational Playlist as to provide something new every week)- Strongholds

  • Ricochet

  • Oddball

  • KotH

  • Extraction

  • Lighting Flag

  • Gungoose CTF

  • Squad Objective

  • Rocket Race/Rocket Hog Race [Multi-Team]

  • Community Objective

This is just to give you an idea, but it creates 15 Permanent Playlists to choice from; 10 of which are in the Arena, 2 are rotational playlists (1 slayer based and 1 non-slayer based) that offset their 2 week rotations, 1 is BTB, 1 is Flood, and 1 is Warzone. I think this provides a good balance between covering a good amount of diversity amongst the playlists, ensuring the expected and most popular playlists are offered as standards, plus it shouldn’t cause a noticeable or harmful dilution to the player base by having too many playlists either.

Sure, it would attract a wider audience.

I’m also sure forge could fix the map problem.

This. I’d probably dabble in it every now and then, but I’d put most of my time into the vanilla Halo 5 playlists.

But then the complaint becomes: “Great, so I can only play Classic Halo on forge maps? Thanks a lot, 343.”

There’s just no winning.

I have a feeling not many people would play it. They have Halo: MCC that they can play for that “Classic” experience.

I wouldn’t mind seeing it added in. That being said, with the way the maps have been designed around the abilities (clamber especially), won’t the removal of these features restrict the gameplay and verticality of the maps? If this were the case, they would potentially have to go back and re-position some of the ledges so that you could crouch-jump on them to preserve the verticality.
