It would be awesome if the classic Halo CE and 2 for the Xbox were backward compatible but with it they re-open the multiplayer servers (if possible) to get that original feel for the game. What do you think?
Would love for it to happen but it’s unlikely. Reason being is the Xbox Live servers were deactivated and likely repurposed for some other usage years ago. Even if they weren’t, the security and infrastructure will be massively outdated, making it a security risk for players personal information.
Side note - Halo PC was the first online Halo game. The original Halo CE did not have online multiplayer on Xbox.
As much as I loved Halo 2 on the original XBOX, Halo MCC offers the better experience for the most part. You get all of the original Halo 2’s maps as well as the DLC maps that were released afterwards and the graphics are enhanced for widescreen HDTV’s.
Same for Halo CE.
Although this would indeed be awesome, I don’t think it’s within the realm of possibility at this point.
