what makes the older games significantly superior than the newer halo games
Better weapons and vehicles.
yes the assult rifle I loved how it tore apart of any in front of it and who can forget the invincible warthog
Everything was better and games were built around Halo fans, not Halo competitors. Bungie also valued Quality over Quantity
Original Halo (CE, 2, 3) felt like it was proud of what it was, while the newer games feel like they are getting a bit ahead of themselves. It’s not something I can properly explain, just how the games make me feel when I’m playing them. I also appreciated that the original trilogy could stand on its own without needing to read EU novels and such to understand what was going on.
Personally, I must say that they were newer ideas, and the MANY sequels kinda threw that off. Plus, Halo 5 was new in a good way. Not all of it was bad, you know.
I like them both. For different reasons. I also like cats and dogs. And both Star Wars and Star Trek. I’m capable of liking more than one kind of thing. I like coming to this section to talk about the classic games but it seems to just be mostly “let’s just go on about how much better the old games are than the new ones” … it’s just dull.

Have you used the hydra and the plasma caster? They’re amazing guns.

I think you have that flipped. Halo 4 and 5 is the one with the amazing AR and halo 3 is the one with the crap AR.
I personally like the newer games better from a gameplay standpoint, but the classics did do better in terms of amount of playlists, campaign gameplay (except for halo ce), and music.
Movement system
Its always interesting to read everyone’s opinions and thoughts on the different games
Lets see— bungie pros: art, soundtrack, movement, weapon function, map design, storytelling, split screen and online co-op on all modes, easy to use forge, loved Reach customization and leveling system, radar, good enemy designs, and characters I loved
343 pros : The way the assault rifle sounds. That is literally it.
Bungie cons: Sometimes bad about map weapon balance initially in Reach but they corrected the problems quickly.
343 cons: See bungie pros, it’s the same list
Consistency in game design. Bungie tweaked the design from Combat Evolved thru 3 and the games for the most part (looking at Halo 3 with Bullet travel) played consistently. Until Reach , when they threw the baby out with the bath water to test Destiny mechanics.
There was alot more interaction with the community back when Bungie was in control too. Sharing snapshots, clips, maps, and game variants made by players, Community Play Dates with members of Bungie, Double EXP weekends
I played Halo when it originally came out, and I can say that the new ones just don’t have that Halo “feel” that the classic ones did. It’s really something that veterans will understand.
If you bring a new player to the Halo series, and start them off at Halo 5, they probably wouldn’t understand why the classic games were so special. I feel that the introduction of sprint also created some problems for the series.
I still enjoy the recent games, but I definitely miss the old style.

Those sound like the words of a 343 fanboy, are you a disgusting and completely worthless 343 fanboy?

I’m a Halo fanboy … Bungie & 343 respectively.
The original trilogy was better written and they had better music
Microsoft not putting down halo fans for telling people about 343 fanboys. I’ll probably get banned for a week for saying this, but I just want to warn you guys that if you speak out against micro transactions, 343 or Microsoft then you will get banned and they will use the non constructive post excuse to justify it. So if anyone knows where I can find a forum that is not run like a dictatorship then please tell me, thank you.

Perfect response
Armor customization looked very unique in Halo 3 and Reach, while Halo 4 and Halo 5 have WAY too much options, it feels like half of them are just copy and paste.
