Classic Gametypes

I’ve been messing around with some of the existing gametypes in Halo 4, I came across some ties between gametypes that exist and gametypes that were cut or requested by players.

First off, I created Classic Valhalla (default Valhalla from before any Halo 3 title updates to it), placing weapons down and using their original spawn times. Of course, some items and features don’t exist, so I made some slight changes (ex. Rocket Launcher instead of Missile Pod). So with a classic map, you need a classic gametype right? I took Infinity slayer and modified it to fit something similar to Halo 3’s Social Big Team Slayer. Standard BR+AR loadout, no AA, weapons are spread across the map (with the exception of decorative weapon ordinance drops). I also changed the settings of a modded gametype using the same Social BTB settings, only the modded gametype has no sprint or instant respawn, creating a more classic Halo feel on an already classic map. Both Social BTB gametypes, as well as Halo Reach’s Big Team Battle setup, and classic Valhalla are on my File Share if you wish to download them.

I also remembered something from Halo Reach. Grifball had (and still has) its own matchmaking playlist, but not its own gametype like in Halo 4. If you downloaded the matchmaking gametype, it was placed under a game that was cut from the Halo 4 playlist (one that many ask to be brought back): Assault. Now, with current settings, it is impossible to do classic Assault, however, if you play Grifball, you know that all Grifball is is Neutral Bomb on a small map. So, I modified some of the game settings, returning the damage, mobility, and weapons to Halo Reach’s weapons and shielding. And there you have it: Neutral Bomb Assault. This can be downloaded off of my File Share and modified to your heart’s content. Hope it plays out well with you and your friends online :slight_smile:
