Classic Firefight and Implementation of Elites

So I am sure that there are many different topics regarding how classic firefight should return, along with how playable elites should also return. I am one of those individuals who would like to see both of these return in Halo 6, but I also think about how they could work perfectly together. 343 Industries have the series at a point where the reintroduction of these ideas would perfectly function with their story and game lore. You have the Swords of Sanghelios (think I spelled that correctly) which is the elite faction fighting alongside the Arbiter, and the more traditional covenant faction whom we still fight in Halo 5. Halo 6 could bring back firefight and let us play as both spartans and elites fighting together against waves of enemies. This would make perfect sense! The UNSC and Arbiters faction would most likely train together in combat simulations, therefore allowing us to play as both factions in a survival game mode which would be incredible fun.

Halo Reach was the first to allow players to become elites in firefight, the issue with this was that they could only fight against spartans. This made total sense at the time since during the events of Reach the elites were allied with the covenant, so fighting alongside spartans would not have made any sense. But since there is now elites allied with the UNSC this is now a possibility, and what better way to reintroduce both firefight and elites to the franchise than to allow both to function together. This would allow players to become either a spartan or elite, and fight together against waves of enemies, which would be lots of fun and is what the fans want. Again from a lore standpoint, the elites already fight their own kind who are still part of the covenant, and they already fight them with spartans by their side, and they now must fight together against Cortana and whomever sides with her, so why not capitalize on this opportunity? This would also allow elites to return to the game without having to deal with balancing issues, since firefight is a cooperative based game mode and not a player-vs-player game mode, therefore elites could be the tall giants they were meant to be, and if they were returned to the multiplayer side of Halo (which I hope they are), they could be tweaked to better balance alongside spartan models.

I want firefight to return in halo, and I also want playable elites to return but not be limited to certain game modes. Halo should have both return and allow elites to function in almost any game type, as I enjoyed playing Halo 3 and seeing spartans and elites on both teams. Elites could be excluded from competitive game modes, so returning a ranked playlist and a social playlist could remedy this potential issue, while leaving the firefight aspect untouched, allowing players to truly see the difference between spartans and elites in combat. Reach touched on this idea, giving spartans and elites differing abilities and stats, but Halo 6 could be the first that truly demonstrates the differences between the two, and each could perform differently or have different abilities in the firefight setting.

Does anyone agree with this idea? Would people like to see this implemented into Halo 6? Feel free to give your opinion and suggestions on the topic, and add extra ideas. (P.S Firefight in Halo 6 could also bring the return of the Flood as enemies to fight, as the purpose of the simulations is to train fighting different hostiles in different environments, and although the Flood may never return in the story, that does not mean spartans and elites couldn’t train fighting them as a precaution, just a thought.)

We have a megathread on Elites in Halo and you can leave your feedback/wish for FF in one of the Halo 6 wishlist threads.
