At launch - no.

Later - maybe.

I wonder if the audio file for “Flag Dropped” even exists…

i dont see why they cant just add it in at launch tbh, especially with the amount of people who dislike the new versions mechanics (i dont like some of the new mechanics, like the combo of auto pick with no flag drop. if it was just no flag drop it wouldnt be as bad as it is without auto pick up)

This…^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I’m sure there will be a classic CTF as in no AAs or armor mods in the classic playlist. But I think it’s been confirmed that the custom options to drop the flag don’t exist, don’t take my word for it though because I’m not 100% sure.

Because otherwise, you won’t play the new CTF and disregard it without knowing if it’s any good or not. It could very well be as good/better than “classic”.

I hope there isn’t classic CTF.

Oh snap… You may start an all out war with this comment… Look out!!!

well with the inclusion of classic playlists at launch, it would only make sense for CLASSIC CTF to return too…

Then you won’t try out the new CTF

Besides, the classic playlists will probably be like Reach’s: so boring and little played compared to the rest of the game, that they’ll take it down without a fuss a little while later.

It doesn’t really matter if you play it, it matters if everyone ELSE plays it. In Reach, at its height, the classic playlist had maybe 200-300 people. That’s not enough to convince them that it’s worth it.

how do you know how many ppl will play the classic playlists?

I doubt anyone wants me to elaborate in my previous statement but I will.

Classic playlists have low populations and split the community. Despite how they cater to nostalgia, they take away (albeit little populations) of players from other playlists. They split the communities not just on playlists but also on preference. Which is why we have playlists on Reach which are TU updated and some are not. Then we’re stuck with TU Slayer, TU Slayer Pro and TU Slayer on forge variants in a playlist that should offer more on different maps.

It’s a mismanagement on 343i’s part and the communities part. The less playlists, the more cohesive and enjoyable the online experience will be.

Less is more so to speak.

Just guessing, based on how Reach’s did (terribly). The thing is, no matter how fun previous Halos were, when people get a new one, they want the new one.

if they make a classic playlist, itll include these:
Classic FFA
Team Slayer
Team Objective
BTB

and then for regular playlists:
FFA
Team Slayer
Team Objective
BTB
Action Sack
Griffball
MLG

thats not too many playlists. some ppl will enjoy classic playlists myself included

Then you’d split that 200-300 classic-playing population into maybe 50 per playlist.
