Earlier I was a huge fan of smartscope(the new system) as I thought it would help sell the game and I like new mechanics. However the other day I took the classic br and the standard br out for a run in warzone to compare. Classic was better outright. Maybe we should have classic zoom for precision weapons and the new arena zoom for auto and shotgun type weapons (ar saw shotgun suppressor etc) to preserve whats better but empower auto weapons as well.

I think a lot of players would just like BR starts in Arena period. Why take them out? Battle rifles have been a staple since H2. (not including Reach of course)

A lot, yes, but definitely not even close to the majority.
I like the new BR more than the classic. It fits the style of gameplay in MP also because it looks sick.
By classic I meant with the classic zoom the weapons in halo 5 are almost perfectly balanced
