Classic Aiming in Halo 5

I, like most people at the launch of Halo 5, struggled a bit with aiming. It felt a little looser than I was used to, so I had to drop my Aim Sensitivity. Then, 343i released the Aim Acceleration setting and that’s when things changed for the better. I immediately dropped my Aim Acceleration down and noticed a huge difference

I’ve found that you can tweak your settings (Aim Acceleration NOT Sensitivity) based on what game you liked the most.

Halo 2 & Halo 3 Feel: Aim Acceleration 1
Halo 4 & Halo 5 Beta Feel: Aim Acceleration 2
Halo 5 Default: Aim Acceleration 3

This is from my own personal observations and tweaking with the game. When I started Halo 5 I was around a 1.15KD and when I switched my settings to feel more like my preferred Halo 2 and Halo 3, I noticed an immediate difference. I’ve since raised my KD to nearly 1.4 and my KDA from 3.0 to 5.0.

Just a helpful hint for those who still complain about the aiming.

What are your settings?!
Aim Acceleration: 1
Aim Sensitivity: 3
Inner/Outer Dead Zones: 0
Hold to Clamber/Sprint: ON
Auto Stabilize: OFF

same settings except sens, I have it at 4

Aim sensivity cant be turned off, so the aiming will always suck. Besides halo 5, halo 3 had the most acceleration and thats why peoples complained about tbat game so much. Halo 1,2,and 4 had less that 1 aim acceleration.

I have mine at sensitivity 2, aim acceleration 1, inner/outer dead zone at 0… still the game innaccurate bootleg experience. Even for an ONYX player

Same as op but a sensitivity 5 or 6 depending on how I’m playing that day.
5 for a bad day
6 for in the zone.
So usually 5! :joy:

My Settings are:
Aim Acceleration: 5
Aim Sensitivity: 10
Inner/Outer Dead Zones: 10%
Hold to Clamber/Sprint: ON
Auto Stabilize: ON

Aim acceleration: 5
Sensitivity: 8
Deadzones: 0
Hold to clamber: On
Auto stabilise: On
