Clarity around TU updated / Anniv. gametype and vanilla reach settings

I find myseld at the moment totally confused with what changes and updates are active in each gametype / playlist. I think 343 need to clarify what changes are active at this given time.

For instance I go into an anniversary playlist match it loads the new map but we all start with DMRs so I dont know if its full bloom, no bloom, 85% bloom…is my magnum a 5sk or a 3sk as they look the same…is amour lock nerfed or not???

i just think there should be clearer definitions or information so when i start a match I know what im playing with, what settings are active and I know the kill times of weapons… it is basic stuff which now seems to be overly complicated and confusing …or maybe its just me??

welcome to the club, no one knows whats going on around here.

If you’re in the Anniversary Playlists I believe these are the settings (not for sure):

Anniversary Classic- no AA, +speed & +jump, 3 melee kill, 3sk pistol, armor bleedthrough(not sure)
All other playlists- AA with added nerfs, +speed & +jump, 4sk DMR reduced bloom (maybe 85%), 5sk pistol reduced bloom, armor bleedthrough, Classic setting are sprinkled in there too

I think the TU is like Anniversary Slayer w/out the 3sk pistol or movement/jump alterations

The main difference is Classic vs Slayer, if it doesn’t say Classic it’s like the TU with +speed/jump and reduced bloom

I think I confused myself…lol

Yes i think 343i does need a dedicated section on this website for detailing the playlists, like bungie had. Something better than forum threads.

This was explained in the News section in a blog by BS Angel. All of the non-Anniversary playlists use the same mechanics as they did before the title update. This could change with the next monthly update or some future update. But for now, they remain status quo.

All the multiplayer matchmaking games in the Anniversary playlists are either TU or Anniversary Classic game types. Anniversary Classic game types have the word “Anniversary” in their title (e.g., Anniversary Slayer).

According to the blog:

"TU Game types are our standard Reach Matchmaking settings with the Title Update changes. Those changes are: damage bleed enabled, modified reticle bloom, sword block removed, Armor Lock modified, and Active Camo modified.

Anniversary Classic game types have the following settings: no Armor Abilities, Anniversary Pistol (pistol traits have been modified to replicate CE behavior), one Frag Grenade upon loadout, player speed increased, gravity increased, jump height increased, shield and health recharge rates increased, and melee damage reduced. Please note that the standard TU changes also apply to Anniversary Classic game types."

If you are on anniversary, and you have DMR, is the TU settings (theres no DMR on classic, except for BTB, which is stupid having a perfect-shot 5sk when you have a perfect-shot 3sk) if you only got Magnum and AR and jump and feel like your spartan is really really fat, then is anniversary settings. nd no, theres no vanilla reach settings on anniversry

343 should give to evryone a title update becaus its not fair u MUST have the annyvarsery map pack i dont have the map pack but i want zero bloom evryone wants the changes i dont care about the maps ( mayby a bit ) a just want halo like before

thanks for the info…the thing is I love 343 and the new maps which are great… in fact the new maps along with the defiant pack are waaaaaay better maps than those that shipped with Reach, which were awful!!

I kinda wish they would just make a global change and stick to it instead of trying to please everyone! the TU updates are such a good thing and step in right direction and anniversary classic is great.

They should just have TU changes across all playlists except Classic playlists which have the “classic” settings ( no AA, 3sk Magnum etc etc) that way things are Simples!!!
