In the Covenants religion, do you need to be alive when the Halo rings are fired to go on the great journey?
Or do you go there automatically when you die if you have faith in the religion?
I think it was that if they light the rings, they go on the so-called “Great Journey.” I’m not sure whether or not they knew that they would die from the activation.
I don’t think you needed to be alive, which is why so many of the covenant species are willing to die for the Great Journey.
