Clans have destroyed matchmaking

Fair enough if you are playing with your friends in a big party but its the saddest thing i’ve ever seen when people that don’t even know each other play in clans. Lone Wolves takes proper skill, clans just ruine all the fun there is in a match by getting ALL the power weapons and annihilating the opposition. Halo 4 NEEDS a clan playlist, keeping them separate from normal game modes or some new search resrictions that limit a lobby party size so the game is fair and actually fun to play…It’s seems these days Halo is just stressing me out with clans. LETS BE HEARD

Well if your in a game full of randoms, you might or might not be screwed over anyways. thats what friends are for to watch your back and win the match, plus to cooperate more easily.

I’ve played against alot of parties/clans/group of friends and usually get dominated in a big way(especially with guests), I wish I had a party to kick butt with. :stuck_out_tongue: Team Objective is a nightmare for me but yet I keep playing it.

Adjust your playing style to fit the opponent, the valiant center charge is most likely not going to work against an organized group.

Clans don’t ruin the fun in a match. They are there to have fun too. They just usually end up working together better than the randoms they get paired against. That is more of a problem with the matchmaking than with the “clans”. Matchmaking shouldn’t be pairing parties up with randoms, but it happens way too often.

Slightly off-topic: it never really happened in Squad Slayer, but then that playlist got taken out.

Parties being matched up against Randoms is a HUGE problem with this game. Not fun at all 95% of the time.

> Well if your in a game full of randoms, you might or might not be screwed over anyways. thats what friends are for to watch your back and win the match, plus to cooperate more easily.

But if you are on a team full of randoms, then you shouldn’t be matched against a To4. It happens way too often in Reach and is a problem with the matchmaking system.

Going in with friends doesn’t solve the problem, it alleviates it for the time being. And you don’t always have friends who are available to play whenever you are.

All it takes to avoid that is to have social and ranked playlists.

> Lone Wolves takes proper skill

I lolled

ever hear of team work? communicating with with my team and working together is the reason I have almost a 90% win/loss ratio in team objective. since 90% of the population doesn’t use mics, it’s foolish to play with them and expect good team work.

There’s absolutely NOTHING wrong with clans, groups, cliques, etc.

That’s how a Team is made.

However, what IS a problem is that clans and such claiming that they “necessary and make up” the majority of Halo or whatever franchise you prefer, and that they are “needed”.

These kinds of things are “needed” when you have to win the Pennant or the Stanley Cup or the Super Bowl. Not a game of Slayer on an internet server.

The ONLY thing that’s NEEDED are people’s ability to enjoy themselves on a piece of entertainment.

If Halo or any other MP game was directly aimed at a competitive community, there would be tryouts like every major sport and event since the dawn of time.

I don’t see the Tryout Playlist popping up anytime soon.

How about a proper matchmaking system that doesn’t match randoms against a full squad?

Agreed there is nothing wrong with clans/full parties. More power to them.

But the fact that they get to play teams of randoms is unfair, and not fun at all for the randoms. Getting smashed by a team of 4 is NOT ENJOYABLE.

Yup. Well at least squad slayer has party restrictions…oh wait.

THIS x100

Not all clans ruin matchmaking, but the ones that want to aggressively spawn trap do. You know the ones; they vote for maps with banshees and neutral power weapons, Smash your vehicles and then patrol your spawns with insta kill weapons and vehicles. They usually come from France. Grrr

At bold
you’re wrong.
See: Starcraft 2

nah, if anything OP, groups of people playing this game together have saved matchmaking.

Wow…I kinda sorta agree with you for once. It feels weird.

I agree that clans are not needed, but they are a part of this community. I think that the main issue with clans isn’t really with clans themselves, but with the matchmaking system that puts full To4or To8 against randoms. That is not fun.

On a side note, I got matched against three KSI memebers and owned them. The rest of my team didn’t fare as well as me sadly, but it still ended up being close-ish.

Really now? -_-

Yes I fully understand that having a team of randoms getting paired up with a full team is unfair, but you can’t honestly tell me that you think lone worlfing it takes more skill then trying to build a team and work together. Teamwork shouldn’t be a thing thats frowned upon, it should be respected. The better solution is to improve on the matchmaking system so that randoms are paired with randoms and teams are paired with teams. Bringing the 1-50 rank system back will help too as most parties will be at the higher levels and playing with skilled players, rather then players who are just picking up the game.

OP, if you want to do well in Matchmaking, creating a team is how to do it. Whether it be a clan, squad, or a group of friends, communication is the key to winning any game. If would highly recommend you find some people to party up with, because today, especially on Reach, if you don’t run parties in MM, you are more than likely to lose that game. I do agree that Reach has poor Matchmaking systems, but until Halo 4 comes out, you need to find people to play with.

And clans don’t “ruin” matchmaking. The most fun I have playing the game is not when I destroy randoms, but rather when I run into another competitive team. That’s what the game should be about. Teamwork.

> On a side note, I got matched against three KSI memebers and owned them.

Lol. Something KSI is popular for!

It’s not but if there’s anything I learned about Matchmaking games, at least you’re getting a match made in decent time. Assassin’s Creed’s “Party search” is a dead in the water horror of playing the patience game. Yet you search individually and it’s pretty quick.

Seems like one of those trade off things. Out of the frying pan and into the oven.
