I am making this thread for the developers to consider because I hope they have come to realize how stale bright red vs bright blue has become, at least to me and how much potential there is in CVC (clan vs clan) playlists that allow you to represent your icon, colors, and markings free of force team colors.
One of the innovations I’m expecting from Halo 4 multiplayer is the introduction of Clan versus Clan playlists/gametypes where two clans can enter either matchmaking with other clans (4v4, 6v6, 8v8 parties ONLY) or against their own clan members in the party (4v4, 6v6 ONLY) that allows Clans to either perfect or compete with their strategies and wage conflicts with other clans out there. I’m expecting matchmaking to fully and actively support clans in this game since there is opportunity for markings, icons, and clan colors. I am also hoping that there will at least be some customization to the Spartan IV’s so it’s not clone wars… just saying.
The reason i say RVB is stale is simply that it is, it’s been an unfortunate linchpin of Halo since Halo 2 and frankly it’s wasting potential for some things that are new. I have no problem with competitive Arena playlists using force team colors because that is it’s own layer of competition but don’t make EVERY player versus player playlist be RVB because it’s just boring after the 500’th match.
Before I’m done here, I also am expecting that 5th time’s the charm here and we will finally get active placement in this game for multiplayer so I don’t have to go another match 2v8 or 1v3, or 2v4, you get the idea. I’m expecting this because it’s 2012, it’s about time we have consistently fair matches in Halo.
I have nothing against 343 so far because you guys SOUND like you want to do some new things with Halo but be warned at least from me, if you don’t support this game 6 months post-release, i wont buy another Halo game again. If you don’t care about that, than screws to you for not listening.

I wouldn’t say it was a real issue before Reach. In Halo 2 and Halo 3 they couldn’t have drop-in/drop-out matchmaking because of ranked playlists, as it wouldn’t be fair to match into a game where you were already down 20 kills (although they could have made Social drop-in/drop-out, but I don’t know if that would make the game too complicated).
In Reach, because there are no ranked playlists, there really isn’t a point to not having it. I hardly think this, or any of the reasons you stated, would be a worthy reason to quit the game.
I wouldn’t expect Clan Battles to return in Reach, it would most likely require a massive overhaul of the coding and what not. I think it is safe to speculate that there is hope for Halo 4. Seeing the wolf and unicorn on the scoreboard gave me a glimmer of hope. Once again though, pure speculation.

and this is why the thread belongs in the Halo 4 section, not matchmaking.
Ummm clans are usually full of young kids, and they get destroyed by real teams. I can’t think of one clan that either didn’t quit out, or get completely dominated by my team.
