I’m not really sure if there is a Clan System in Halo: Reach because I’m quite new so forgive me if I miss anything out.
Now, for me, if Halo has a Clan System, it will be really fun. Imagine you playing very well in a match and when the game ends, a dude approaches you via message saying “Hey, I’m [insertname]. I’m the founder of [insertclanname] and would like to invite you to my clan!”. I’m sure you will be very excited!
Your clan name will appear beside your name to represent your clan. It will also send chill down your opponent’s spine because your clan is among the strongest ones but also, they might say “Tsk, piece of my mother’s cake!” because your clan might be one of the weakest.
You don’t have to worry about their ranks if their good or bad, because in some cases, people who are higher ranks than you may lack in skills (I apologise if this offends you).
To create a clan, you will have to spare some CRs to create them. When I mean some CRs, I don’t mean 100 CRs or lower,xD I mean like a 10,000 CRs, around there and also you have to reach a specifiq rank to create them. Why is all this required to create a clan? This is to avoid too many clans and inactiveness.
I’ve always thought if you really want to promote massive clans you need something so expensive, so outlandish, and over powerful that it would force players to merge into three or four main clans or corporations in order to pool their resources together in order to unlock it. This falls into EVE online’s economic model, so it’ll be interesting to see how Dust514 implements this with it’s players.
But right now it seems that Halo Clans need some menu and GUI love as well.
I’m pretty sure that no FPS is going to adopt an actual clan system (outside of CoD’s “Clan Tags” service tag system which makes it SEEM like their supporting it) until Xbox and Microsoft themselves do.
Given, if Microsoft wants to I’m sure they’d be glad to debut the feature at E3 via their Cash Cow, Halo and to show how Halo can utilize it, but for now I don’t think anyone will until The Man gives the official go-ahead.
I have never been in a clan for more than a month or two but i think this is a good idea. When I have join a clan i play all day with this new clan and the next day they are all playing something else.(which is fine with me but when they stop playing halo for a month i start to think that me joining this clan wasn’t a good idea.) with the requirements to make a clan I’m sure that people will be online for more than a day.
