Regarding my experience in the Armored Federation…
Do not join this clan. As a former member, I warn you that this clan is not created for it’s members, but for it’s leaders. The leaders of the clan are very strict and abusive, and they will bend their own rules to their own liking. This is a report that I have from being in the clan for awhile. Please read it thoroughly.
On my long and adventurous journey to find a Halo clan that would be willing to accept me, I stumbled upon this very forum. I was interested in joining this clan, so, for a week (once every other day or so), I have messaged I V3RM1L10N I, asking him if I could join his clan. However, it was not until a week later, where I decided to try a different method of contact, until I found myself introduced into this clan. I messaged the main leader, Arkavex, directly, asking him if I could join the clan. He replied much later, and told me to wait for a representative to talk to me. After waiting for around an hour, I was finally contacted by someone known as Frark. When we first me, we started talking to each other and got to know each other. We became friends quickly and loosely told jokes as if talking casually to a friend known for a long time. However, he was the only good thing about this clan. It was not until later that I have realized that Frark was a very new member, almost as green as me, and knew hardly anything about the clan. I tried to ask him questions, but he answered uncertainly. After a few matches, the representative had me put on my clan’s uniform. I helped him glitch his Nameplate. After becoming acquaintances so quickly, I began to feel that this clan would be a wonderful place for me to start my career on matchmaking. However, when I joined their KIK chat, where I met their leaders and other members, I quickly changed my mind.
While entering the AF KIK Chat, I was told that I would have to “Obey any orders” given to me. I was fine with that, until I was linked to a Youtube video on the clan’s Youtube channel. Upon entering, I saw a new coated general who was giving his speech to his clan. Instead of him explaining who he was, or what he is going to change for the clan, or even what his motives were, he quickly began to rant about authority and respect, and how we would have to have those two concepts burned into our personalities. Now, that would be fine, but I am uneasy with people forcing others to gain respect, so I stood out against it. I was quickly attacked ravenously by clan members, who, instead of greeting me and welcoming my opinions, started to threaten and talk in a very rude and aggressive manner. I was quickly told by one of the members that my opinions were “Breaking the clan’s rules” and that I was not allowed to do that. One of the members told me to leave the clan immediately, and the leaders did nothing but stay silent, though they were present at the time (They started typing but then would stop). After asking them these questions: "What is this clan’s goal and purpose?" and "If I were a normal player on the internet, why would I want to join this clan specifically?" I was kicked.
From my experience with this clan, I believe that it is safe to say that the leaders are trying to make people on the internet respect them and give into their orders. They have no plans for the clan, and the only structures that I have seen are based around authority and power (yes, even divisions). This clan is structured like a totalitarian nation, and it only wants power and authority. If you are a Halo player who wants to be proud of being apart of something, this is not the clan for you.
