I wouldn’t do that far as it’s pretty different… crouch jumping had to be timed a lot better and you had to be more precise with your jumps. Clamber can be used even when you short a jump… if you short a jump while crouch jumping you miss the jump.

It really isn’t the same. A number of jumps cannot be done without clamber, just as they wouldn’t be doable without smart-link/crouch smart-link. So no, it doesn’t do the same thing. Crouch jumping is also faster where applicable since you do not need to wait for the clamber animation.
Well, if you jump and crouch you can clamber higher.
I miss crouch jumping over clamber because I actually took pride in being pretty -Yoink!- good at getting around on old maps. Like on Last Resort, going from the beach to the base, I could get inside the base as the enemy grabbed spartan laser.

There are a few jumps in 5 where you are required to crouch jump or you dont have enough lift to reach the clamber spot.
