I don’t much have an issue with either the ground pound or clamber features on their own, let me get that out of the way first. However, after playing the beta using bumper jumper I am encountering a few major issues with the controls.
Whenever i jump to a surface and I don’t quite get the clamber for whatever reason but I could make it with a crouch jump, the crouch is interrupted by the ground pound animation. Either getting me killed straight away or causing me to drop down immediately into danger. I’m not sure exactly what the solution is, perhaps moving the ground pound to one of the d-pad buttons is my first suggestion, and keeping the joystick click for crouch.
My other issue is with clamber not actually clambering. It seems random when it happens. Sometimes I’ll make a jump and be nowhere near the top of the edge and it’ll clamber up and other times I’ll just hit the top of the edge and fall down even though I was really very close. This most often happens if I’m on the decline of my jump rather than the incline.
My preference would be having the ability to automatically clamber, but much more reliable. But also have the traditional crouch jump as a fall back. The controls definitely need to be adjusted, the d-pad being the most logical choice for ground pound in my opinion.

> change your button layout…
> you can fix this issue
Or he can just change the setting so he holds the rb to clamber as that is what I use and it works flawlessly
I’ve tried using different settings, but it still doesn’t clamber absolutely every time. Like I said, it’s more on the decline of a jump that it doesn’t happen, the incline of a jump is pretty solid. And no matter what with bumper jumper crouch jumping is impossible. Which is think can easily be fixed. Why should I have to change my button layout when a simple change can fix it?

I use bumper jumper and love it. Be sure to hold down the jump to clamber or just press it again near a ledge. If your having problems with the ground pound activating you might try turning on the “clench protection” option. I know I have to since I grip the controller with the strength of a bear during a tough fight making me accidentally click the sticks all the time.

how do you deal with not being able to crouch jump though? That’s my main issue at the moment. I understand how clamber works, it’s just inconsistent in my opinion.
I hated crouch jumping. It was an overly complicated mechanic to begin with and I rarely utilized it during the past halo games. These maps have been designed from the ground up with clamber in mind and there are most certainly skill jumps on them. I have found several so far. The devs said somewhere that they didn’t like the idea of crouch jumps because it slowed down the gameplay and pressing several buttons just to make a jump was kinda silly.
