I bought the reindeer antlers thinking they could be equipped on any of the Helmets in the mark 7 core.
When going into the item shop page for the items it lets you look at a preview of it on your spartan, i had the mark v zeta on and the reindeer ears were equipped on that but when i went to actually equip them it can only done on two helmets.
343 needs to fix, i know they probably didn’t mean to do it but this is false advertising.
I believe it only showcases it on the default helmet and, I forget the name of the other one it works for. You earn it in the original battle pass towards the end. Can you provide a screenshot of it on other helmets?
There’s also a few other ways to check beforehand what helmets attachments work with before picking up.
It would be nice though if they labeled in the shop these details before purchasing though.
It would be even better if they made other helmets compatible. Just seems a little lazy on their part. I mean, i have no concept of how much time it would take to make the models work on more helmets but for the price of the cosmetic, you would think thered be more options
If you go into the store and look at the antlers, you can press “try on” and it will show it on any helmet that you have currently equipped. It looks like it should be compatible with every helmet…
But when you buy it, you can only equip it on two: Cavallino and Mark VII.
This is different than other things that will switch to a helmet that is compatible if you have something else equipped when you press “try on”.
Well well well if it isn’t False Advertisement.
This is what happens when you say “Cosmetic microtransactions aren’t that bad.”
Newsflash: YES THEY ARE!
This guy and I both bought the antlers because “Try on” previews it on Anubis, and looks great. You buy it, shocker, doesn’t work on Anubis. I feel scammed tbh.
10,000+ upvotes. 343, explain why crosscore works flawlessly in “Try on”, but not actually accessible in game?

Because then they won’t be able to charge you multiple times for the same item.
I would believe that was the case, if they were ever actually going to sell the same item, but I can’t believe that 343 would sell the antlers for two helmets at a time every Christmas for the next 9 years.
Coatings, yeah probably, since these free blue white Christmas weapon coatings are almost exactly the same as the ones that are in the Iron Man bundle in the shop right now except they’re for the weapons not in the paid bundle. Coincide? I doubt it. Otherwise the coatings would work on ALL weapons, but instead the AR has almost all of the coatings and the Hydra has almost none
I wouldn’t say flawlessly… On Enigma the nose is just floating in front of the helmet, not physically attached lol.
Well the issue is mostly that 343 connects attachments to the bones instead of the helmet, which is why the Cat ears for example are either sticking up high on the helmet, or half buried in the helmet. 343 doesn’t actually bother positioning every helmet and attachment to match the correct or even ideal position.
The crosscore ITSELF works fine. 343s alignment is the only issue. That’s mostly why they don’t feel like fixing crosscore. They don’t want to manually line up the attachments with the helmets.
Imo, it would be better to line up the helmets instead, since some helmets are smaller or lower on the neck than others, or tilted forwards or backwards. If the helmets were all the same size and position, the attachments would all align too. Try to visualize the eye and nose slots from War Master as you scroll the helmets. They’re not all the same eye level. Even the attachment made exclusively for ZVEZDA floats above the helmet, and my glowing blue visor shines out of the crack from behind on the sides.
It’s honestly 100% just them covering their laziness. The crosscore has functioned since before the betas. If they bothered to align all the armor attachments from the start, they wouldn’t need to fix them. Remember when the Cyber Showdown attachment effects were crooked? Took 5 months to fix them. I guess us eagle-eyed players are being too picky
