Choosing Your Playable Character

Hi everyone.

So I was wondering if 343i could implement a character selection screen for the campaign.

With all the great new characters brought to the table I don’t want to be limited to playing as either Chief or Locke in SP, or the same two characters in 2P COOP.

I’d like to be able to play through as Linda, and see the story through her eyes whilst fighting alongside Chief, or play as Buck to see what Locke is really like.

I realise that more voicelines would have to be recorded so each character can give out orders and commands, but it would be nice to do so. Otherwise the only way to be a certain character will to be in a certain spot in the queue for COOP, and that seems such a shame and a waste of potential.

Would anyone else like this? Is there any chance it could be in?

Character selection would be awesome for co-op, instead of the Halo 3 “whichever order your partners join in” kind of way. But I think solo should always stick you as Chief and Locke for command-giving and narrative purposes.

It’s been confirmed that you can select your character in co-op. The only exception is that there has to be someone playing as Chief and Locke. You are able to select your character even when joining in progress.
