Ghosts of Onyx. By far one of the best Halo books to date. Either that, or go all the way back and read, Fall of Reach. That’s normally the one I choose to read on trips, due to its size and length.

Fall of Reach was my first Halo novel and still my favorite. I binge read it on vacation last year.

Halo: Last Light was extremely well written. It takes place in 2553 and is a good murder mystery. It gives us a better look into the mind of Fred-104, and the fates of the Spartan-III Gammas on Blue Team.

Depends. If your asking for recommendations, I recommend reading the standalone novels or ones that start Sagas/trilogies off such as New Blood, Evolutions, Cryptum, Fall of Reach, etc.

If your asking for just any Halo book, assuming that one has read rest of the novels, I’d go with Ghosts of Onyx or Silentium, which are my two favourite pieces of Halo fiction.
