While this isn’t an issue so much in multiplayer, some areas in Campaign and Spartan Ops are draining the scenery with too many god rays and flares.
Maybe this has to do with hiding low-res visuals due to aging console hardware? Either way, I hope it’s toned down a bit in Halo 5. Thank you!
Yea, 343 took the maximum capacity of xbox360 for halo 4.
No worries, halo 5 won’t have that

I agree entirely. I think 343 Industries pushed the console to its absolute limits, but I wish they would have done it in a more well-rounded way. Relative to the past Halo titles, we’ve substituted low resolution sprites for stirring “real-geometry” backgrounds, we’ve replaced HD textures for muddy low resolution ones, and we’ve replaced dynamic and interactive scenery and flora with static, lifeless scenery, all in the name of having some stellar lighting.
I love the lighting. But it really takes away from everything else. I hope a better middle ground is found for Halo 5.
I actually like the lighting. I feel like it has always been a staple of Halo games. But yeah I will agree with others when they say it shouldn’t significantly take away from other graphical elements.
The main problem I have with the lighting is the weird, gooey-looking texture glazed over everything to make everything look rough under the lighting, even smooth surfaces. I would rather have smooth-looking textures than these fancy lighting effects. Somehow I find the environment texture quality on Reach to be better-looking, though Halo 4 blows it out of the water (literally) with the Character Models, Weapons and Vehicles.
