I was playing multiplayer the other day, and I noticed that chiefs shoulders in the campaign were different than the ones you are awarded for completing the campaign on legendary. Wierd.
The mark vi armor awarded is the old chiefs armor from previous halo games. Yeah, it’s kinda stupid, I know. His revamped halo 4 armor is unobtainable
The whole suit is different.
What you use in campaign is a Mk VI MJOLNIR powered assault armor.
The multiplayer version that you are awarded for beating the campaign on Legendary is the GEN2 version of the Mk VI. At least that’s how I look at it.
I think their reasoning was to help Master Chief keep his exclusive identity so that everyone doesn’t run around on War Games looking just like him.
Funny theory, I know. But I can’t think of any other possible reason they denied access to his armor.
EDIT: I changed my mind. I think his armor is just old, and using it for the spartan IV program would be unreasonable, canonically.
It’s just that they don’t want players to be able to fully replicate the appearance of in-game characters. Same goes for Reach as countless people have tried to recreate Noble Team members’ armor and you were unable to get the exact look (even Carter’s armor. although you could pretty much recreate his armor, all the details were unobtainable).
Well of course, his armour is Cortana modified.
The war games one is gen 2 compatible mark VI
