So far everything that I have seen for Halo CE Anniversary has been absolutely amazing and I don’t really have anything to complain about apart from the shininess of chief’s armor, I think when it’s so shiny it doesn’t allow the small details of the armor to pop out and it ends up looking a bit weird, not to say that the armor its self looks bad it looks amazing it’s just that the shininess takes away some armor detail. I think his armor looks it’s best when it has this kind of texture because it looks very clear and not so cluttered and it almost looks smooth (in a weird gun metal texture way).
What do you guys think?
It was shiny in the original CE. That’s how it should be.
I never really liked the armor texture in the sequels. It just didn’t feel the same. It looked like plastic to be honest, while in Halo CE it actually looked like a metal suit of armor, as it should.
If it’s not shiny, I feel like I’m playing as an action figure, not a Spartan.
Of course we all have different preferences, but even putting those aside the shiny one is closer to the original and therefore better.
I know for sure halo 2 looked very plastic but that was because of the graphics and I know chief’s armor was shiny in the original but not like this the old shine was subtle with only a little bit of reflective alloy, it didn’t look like chief had slapped on some industrial grease on his suite that would surely make him stand out like a soar thumb if light had ever to shone upon him ;p. I’m not saying that his armor looks bad or anything it is just a bit too shiny now, I doubt very much that they would have time to change it now but it would be nice… but then again I think I am the only one who has even mentioned it because everyone else seems to love the shininess.
Its futuristic armor so I think the shiny look fits. I don’t wanna live in a future without shiny armor.
