So here’s what I’m thinking after this latest batch of info released by ONI. We know that the Chief and Blue team go AWOL at some point in Halo 5 and then Osiris is sent after them. A lot of people have already said this public release of information by ONI is a cover up but I don’t think anyone has found out why or what they’re covering up. To me it seems logical that they’re covering up the disappearance of the Chief (and not mentioning anything about the less known Blue team).
If this is true we can assume that the meaning of the date Oct. 27, which coincides with the release of Halo 5, is going to be considered present day or where Halo 5 starts. But, while it is technically present day the first few missions in the game will be flash backs. This will introduce Osiris and the rest of Blue team to us while also explaining why Blue team went AWOL. After all that is explained we’ll pick up from present day (Oct. 27, 2558) and move forward with the story line.

If you look at some of the most recent updates on the HtT tumblr you’ll see that figure from the video was inaccurate and it was actually 2558.

I guess that would be the general thread for talking about the trailer. I’ve seen other threads get locked for talking about the trailer so I figured I’d give you a heads up that that might happen here.
Well now that we know its 2558 and not 2560, the day they said he “died” is around the time the Guardian events start happening right? I can only assume this as the Osiris mission we saw takes place on the day they said he died. (I’m pretty sure) So the correction om the HTT site pretty much confirms the death story as a cover-up for him going AWOL.

Well my conclusion only came after the trailer, the “document” i linked to on HtT tumblr and the latest HtT podcast so I didn’t think it would fit under any one discussion.
