Chief's New Armor

Although Halo 4 takes place directly after Halo 3 chronologically the game play should evolve from 3 to Reach to 4. Many people have a problem with anything new that might be in Halo 4 because it would not make sense canonically for Chief to have new equipment or armor out of no where.

My solution is this:

Engineers (those floating things from ODST) love to take things apart and are very smart. They could find a wounded Chief and take his armor apart while they nurse him back to health. When Chief is healed and fully awakens he will be greeted with his upgraded armor courtesy of his friendly neighborhood Engineers.

See any problems with this idea?

One small, tiny flaw. Why would the Huragok be in the Shield World and/or the Forward Unto Dawn?

unsc or or oni or whoever makes the armor, does consistently make new armor and armor upgrades. every new halo with master chief has him in uprgraded armor. but he hasnt been back to earth or any where to get upgrades, so ur idea is actually a good one. maybe something on onyx or whatever the planet him and cortana are headed for has a way to do this. SPOILER ALERT according to the books halsey is on the planet, trapped no doubt in the dyson sphere, but maybe she has something to do with it**

Sounds possible, but why would there be Engineers at Shield World unless Covenant is there? :open_mouth:

very true, no mention of them in books

> One small, tiny flaw. Why would the Huragok be in the Shield World and/or the Forward Unto Dawn?

I think this concept art trailer suggests that it is not a shield world and that the Engineers are on the planet.

Because where ever the Chief is heading toward is a Forerunner installation/planet. It’s possible, even probable, that Engineers would be there.

I stand corrected.

Reach is set before Halo 1?

Yes. At the end of Halo: Reach, you see the Pillar of Autumn (the ship that Chief is on in the beginning of Halo 1) leaving Reach.

The only thing I genuinely don’t like about the new armour is the helmet, as for any canonical reason for it being there, that could all be explained when the game comes out.

Provided Master Chief WAKES UP in Mark VI, and gets upgraded LATER, I’m happy.

If he wakes up in his new armor I will be seriously pissed.

Personally yes, because then you would have to create a story arc as to why and how the Engineers were there in the first place, then you would have to explain where they got the technology from, you can’t just make something out of nothing.

Other than the obvious I don’t see any problems with it, but I hope it isn’t the way he gets his new stuff. It just seems like such a simple idea, I’d prefer to see a complex plan in a complex game universe over something easily explainable any day.

I will agree with this. I’d still prefer he had his old armor though.

This and I really don’t like how big the thruster pack look on the chief now compared to before or his -Yoink- piece.

Huragok are primary Forerunner Creations. It could be a possibility that some Huragok that are native to this myseterious planet came along and took some of the armour as a prank.

Evil, Evil Huragok…

Hmm… I don’t see how an Engineer would be on Forward Unto Dawn. They weren’t even in Halo 3. The new armour’s story could be that Chief crashes on the Forerunner installation, finds Forerunner allies (maybe Monitors or Sentinels) and they direct him to an armoury like place where they could upgrade his armour.

The Forerunner CREATED the Engineers, the Covenant just enslaved them. The Engineers will likely be on a Forerunner world.

In Amber Clad is not the UNSC Frigate in Halo 3. In Amber Clad is the frigate Captain Miranda Keyes, Gunnery Seargent Johnson and John 117 took to pursue the High Prophet of Regret’s Flag Ship when it initiated a Slipspace jump towards Delta Halo (Installation 05)

The UNSC Forward Unto Dawn or at least the Rear End of the ship is the one where John 117 and Cortana are last seen in.

My bad lol!

I actually had Halo 2 in my mind, because I was looking at Breakneck screenshots haha.
