in the reach campaign we could assasinate so id be surprised if we couldnt in h4’s campaign so wheres chiefs knife? or is he just that much of a ba that he uses his mits either way cant wait to find out
thoughts?
I’m not sure. I’d like to know, and I’d also like to know where the Spartans keep their knives on their armor. I’m making a costume for the launch party. I have a MC suit and helmet, but I’m thinking about NOT showing up as the Chief. I dunno.
good question it might just spawn out of no where like in Reach. even though the knife was on the armor, the character models never really unsheathed it to use it. i used to call it the magic knife because of how it would just appear in their hands when there was an assassination animation.
They keep it under their -Yoink- piece.
I heard that the Chief uses his toe for assassinations so don’t worry

After assassinating the (Reach) Spartan moves the knife to his/her chest and it looks like they return the knife to it’s sheath. I’ve seen it! It’s part of the animation!
I’m sure this will be explained later on.
Possibly it won’t be added until later, or this is a hidden sheath somewhere on his armor.
Keep in mind we haven’t seen a sheath for multiplayer either, but it will likely be added.
For all we know chief may use his dual hidden blades.
Oh wait, this isn’t the Assassins Creed forums…
(Don’t worry guys, I know Im not publicly funny. I find myself hilarious though.)
All “kidding” aside, he may surprise us. He could have on in a utility belt maybe…? Or he may just snap necks or punch people so hard its mor effective than a knife… Chief always has a surprise up his sleeves… does chief have sleeves…?

Well…I don’t think the knife ever leaves the sheath, a new knife just shows up in the hand. But he does raise the knife to his chest to put it away, I know that.
I remember 343 saying a while back that John’s ‘look’ wasn’t finalized yet. We may see the knife(s) as we get closer to launch.
Or maybe he has wrist blades, ala Adam jensen from Deus Ex.

Saber-Blade!!!
(Basically that but a bigger “tip” and it’s also more rounded. Like a Sword.)
EDIT: Below me: Picture that blade but about 2 feet long.
That = Saber-Blade.

“I never asked for this.”
Ha, I said it first. I win, and I never played the game! Extra points!
I always preferred Republic Commando’s knife. And the self-cleaning visor! Freakin awesome!
haha wasnt expecting that many funny responses i hope we get a few selections for knives not only where they are on the armor but the style of the knife. and hopefully chief has his own unique knife cus obviously his would be the best, haha how pissed would you guys be if you start the campaign and your running around with the katana from h3 on ur back
also dif topic but the i hope we get to use the sword looking thing the knights have would love a forruner melee weapon

Knights of The Old Republic
The Jedi Knight Series
The Battlefront Series
Republic Commando
What to Star Wars gaming? It used to be awesome! A true tragedy…
But on topic, It would be interesting if the knifing is done in first-person; 343 did say that they wanted the player to feel like a cybernetic super-soldier.
