I looked up on halopedia today and apparently the halo universe is currently in the year 2610 which means that since the Master Chief was born in 2511 that he is 99 years old! Its time to start demanding a celebration party on halo 5 for Johns upcoming 100 birthday!

Um, that would be incorrect.

Halo 5 took place during 2558 and chief was born on 2511 so therefor (2558-2511) chief is 47 years old.
Yea I kinda had the feeling it was wrong but they actually had events that happened 2610 so I thought it was recording events after halo 6.

No problem.
Did you just eyeball 2610? Cos 2610 is the epilogue from Dr Halsey (At the end of Halo Reach) about Team Noble during the breaking ground ceremony on the re-terraformed Reach

Yea I did.

Are Spartans meant to live long? Or they start getting old quickly

I don’t know. You could probably find that on Halopedia.

Halsey’s speech was actually in 2589, not 2610.
It would be interesting if someone took the time to figure up how much time Master Chief’s spent in cryo-sleep, because you don’t age in cryo, which means he isn’t as old as the difference in time between his birth year and the current year. The same would go for many UNSC personnel.

Yeah apologies 2610 is when they dig up her journal (Just eyeballing the page doesn’t help. Who’d have thunk it)

The one that Halsey thought was destroyed on Reach?
If so, ONI had hold of it in 2553.
There is at least one interesting thought brought up by this thread; how long do Spartan IIs live when they don’t have their augmentations reversed like Roland did in Nightfall? I know Jun tip toed around the question in New Blood and didn’t give an exact answer, I suspect because he and Buck were speaking specifically about IVs, but given the augmentations and combined with the Librarian advancing John’s evolution, i.e. Forerunner augmentation (and they lived for millennia), I don’t think a 100 year lifespan is out of the question. Now, will he still be operational? That would be an interesting twist but without the ability to clarify with the Librarian just what she did to him it would largely be a mystery until we get there.

Sorry again a former ONI Operative who’d somehow got the original donated the journal to the museum of humanity
Excellent
