Am I the only one who think Chief VS Locke battle should be explored again in the next Halo? I feel like the fight between MC and Locke was wasted in Halo 5 because they only had 1 fight and it was a cinematic cutscene. I would love it if we had a level in Halo Infinite where we play as MC and we fight Locke in a boss battle or we play as Locke once and we fight MC. That would blow my mind! Most people dislike Locke and don’t want to play him again and 343 has confirmed the next Halo will focus on Chief but I would like it if we had something from these two characters.
Personally, I think they missed their opportunity. I don’t believe they’re likely to revisit the idea.

Agreed.
It was never Chief vs Locke or Locke vs Chief.
One was given orders to detain and capture someone who had gone AWOL.
One was determined to find Cortana/Save Humanity.
Ultimately, everybody got on the same page. Blue Team and Osaris are allies.
I really don’t care about Locke, and if he doesn’t ever show back up in the halo universe u won’t find me crying about it.
It was a missed opportunity and I would rather move on than try to revisit it
Please no Locke, please.

Jameson Locke isn’t going away anytime soon. Some people identify as John -117 others as other Spartans. Spartan Locke is a badass but so is John. Both add value to the Halo Universe!
It would have been nice to keep Sgt. Johnson but such is life right?
It’s nice to see other people have Spartans that they can relate to.

I absolutely loved those 2 trailers pre Halo 5 showing Chief vs Locke, that’s one of the main reasons i was so disappointed in Campaign, because these fights never happened. Now after this i was imagining how it could happen somehow in Halo 6 and i think it wouldn’t make sense in the end because Locke was presented as a very nice person and he saved Master Chief in the end of Halo 5.But did some research in books and i came up with an idea that could be even better and that is Chief fighting all 3 members of Grey Team. They are different from other Spartans IIs because already as children in Spartan training they never followed orders and were trying to escape. That’s why on the field they mostly operated in shadow operations and they work closest for ONI from all other Spartans.I think this could be awesome fight between Chief and Grey Team.
Chief and Locke are on the same page, there is no reason for them to fight each other.
I don’t think you can just simply remove a bunch of characters without explaining what happened to them. I would be okay if fireteam osiris returned in some way and hopefully they can do some bettee character development for them, Locke has potential to be a sweet character. Chief will eventually have to be replaced…

Given the events in Halo: Bad Blood, it actually seems unlikely that we’ll see much of Locke in Infinite.
Good book and worth a read!
It actually made me think that they’d lined the story up in it to both resolve a bunch of the issues in H:5G and to create a well to fish future Halo spinoffs out of.
Also, it’d be pretty cool if when they eventually replace Chief and blue team as the main protagonist that they did that with Buck and Alpha-9.
I think way more fans would identify with them than they did or would with Osiris.

I don’t think Nathan Fillion is the kind of actor that can be reliably around to fill the role of the main character for all main Halo games once Chief is out of the picture. He’s a big Hollywood actor with a busy schedule.

Do I need to read new blood first to understand it or can I just jump into Bad Blood?

As others have said already, I feel that they missed their opportunity. Combine that with the fact that they have no reason to at odds with each other, I’m really hoping that Locke has little more than a cameo in Infinite. I’d be more accepting of him having several appearances even, as long as I didn’t have to play as him.
Considering how much value Sgt. Johnson added to the Halo universe… I don’t think it’d be such a stretch to think that Locke could go just the same. I’d much rather have Johnson back.
They’d be insane to have Locke in Infinite. I’m sure what they’ll do is put Locke/Osiris on the back burner and continue their story through novels/comics, just like they did to the Didact.
no thanks, lockes not match for the chief, bring back elites

Nah, there will be points that you’ll be a bit lost on about Mickey and Dutch, but it’s written in a fashion that if you stick with it you’ll be able to fill in the gaps fairly easily. Or at least get the general idea of the New Blood events.

I was thinking of picking it up next time I’m in chapters so curious to know if I should pick up new blood too.
