Spartan Locke looks like he has a lot of initiative. But it might end up the be that they both are pretty banged up and Locke is seemingly winning but then Chief gets him when he’s turned his back.
People say Spartan 2s are the best, but they ARE aging. They’re almost in their 40s, so imagine what type of body problems they’ll have with unsafe augmentations. Back pain, knee pain, etc.
But I still think Master Chief has this.
It’s an even fight in terms of ability, but I feel that Johns combat knowledge is going to give him the advantage. I’m thinking of MGS boss fights, specifically 3, where big boss being a legendary soldier is able to take down absurdly powerful bosses despite not having the ability to do the same crazy stuff. I vote locke though, because I feel like he technically has more ability due to his suit. It’s essentially batman vs. ironman, and my vote goes to ironman.
I’m so excited to see how they play out in the game. I don’t see them killing either character, probably it will end up with Locke and his team splitting off somewhere else for spinoff games to take place, kind of like how blue team was trapped on Onyx while chief was at earth.
Chief blew up 2 Halos, the Ark, probably around the area of a million Covenant, and thousands of Prometheans. I think Locke will have quite the ordeal if he was to fight Chief.
Chief was also fooled by a giant Venus flytrap. Twice.
More experience is gonna win
I think Master Chief hands down would win. Various evidence supports this. First off, the Spartan-II program was the best because of several things. The gene pool was very small, every child had to be perfect. The Spartan-IV gene pool was expanded to advances in the augmentations, which means that not everyone was perfect for the job. Also, the Spartan-II soldiers were trained from childhood, while the Spartan-IV’s are trained from adulthood. There id the difference in length of combat experience as well. Chief has been in the field for decades, that’s a big advantage. Its really no contest, Master Chief all the way!
I’d say Locke would win in a fight. He has the more advanced armour that gives him thruster packs, ground pounds, and the ability to do a thruster-powered shoulder charge. Chief’s armour doesn’t do a lot besides protect him. Plus, Chief’s augmentations, despite being more severe than Locke’s, are decades older. If you look at the other technological advances in that time, there’s quite a disparity. ONI only used children to create the Spartan-IIs because they couldn’t use consenting adults. Due to better technology, it is now possible to augment adults. Chief definitely has the experience and training, far more than Locke’s, but that only counts for a little if he’s up against superior technology. Chief also seems to be going ‘off the rails’. He has gone AWOL, shot up an embassy (as far as we know), and killed an ambassador. That, combined with the loss of Cortana, his closest friend, does not point to a healthy psyche. Locke, on the other hand seems completely sane and committed to his duty.
aside from the physical component, I think the psychologicial plays a big role as well. It’s likely that locke will be very intimidated by chief, considering what he has accomplished
I know the chief is aging but come on man! BTW I’m not sure in the lore, but what is the life expectancy for humans in the Halo universe?
After seeing that Locke video i’m not so sure, but MC all the way!

Thanks, Chief is actually on higher footing, so he’s not actually as short as he appears, but I did make chief taller because if my lore knowledge is right than the Spartan II modifications were more influencial on height than any spartan IV mod is. I imagine they’re both above 7 feet tall, chief just has several more inches on Locke.
After everything MC’s been through (even only taking into consideration Halo 1 - 4) there’s no conceivable way MC would lose unless Locke did something really sneaky like sniped him from long range or had some crazy power weapon that no one could survive a blast wtih. 1v1 up front? MC all the way hands down.

Who’s to say Locke couldn’t achieve the same things? Or, if you know the mendicant bias guide theory, how much of his accomplishments were him, and how many were his “luck”?

Ikr, all the suffering, the life he lost, the training he’s been through since 6, his augment at 14… UNSC could have just take him at 40 and throw him at the covenant without giving him anything. The ‘’ luck’’ would have accomplished everything.
Before you go back to cod ( btw nice negative K/D in every halo ) you should read, or reread, halo TFOR for the explanation why II are better than IV. And their is no luck/god/magic in the halo universe, he makes his own luck with his skills, and geas does help.
Master Chief hands down

It was a very SPECIAL giant venus flytrap…
I think its going to be 50-50. I belive locke has the capability to do it… But In a current lore context… Locke’s feets are not as impressive as the chiefs. Anything is possible though.
343 industries would be ruined if they killed chief. All the lore built up around him would stop. Sure you could continue Halo in general but it wouldn’t ever be the same.

So was the Arbiter and by the looks of it, Locke is being fooled by ONI.
