So a couple days ago I got to wondering is chief more of a “Under dog,” which if you don’t knw is someone with little to no chance of winning, or more of a “one man army” which is more of a Rambo kind of guy, I’d like to hear what you say about it
Chief hardly counts as an underdog, he’s saved humanity several times over regardless of the odds. I mean, this is the friggin’ Master Chief we’re talking about, right?

He is, and I mean this endearingly, a colossal idiot. Dude nearly killed everyone in CE because he blindly believed the first robot that said it could stop the Flood without asking about their solution. He’s lucky people like Cortana, Johnson, and others have been around to keep his dumb -Yoink- in check.

But seriously, I think under dog would be the exact opposite of Chief. Humanity as a whole were definitely under dogs in the Covenant War, but Chief was such a one man army that he was able to turn the tide of the entire war.
One man army without a doubt. If there’s no one around him, Chief just becomes all the more lethal.
Case in point; literally smoking his way through the entirety of the latter half of CE without any Marine back up, rocking through High Charity solo, TWICE…
