On Multiplayer you play as Spartan IV not Master Chief.
You need to calm down. Just because he didn’t sprint in game for gameplay purposes before doesn’t mean he would never sprint, there were cut scenes in the previous Halos with him sprinting, the books have him sprinting to. Chill the hell out.
He runs in every halo game during cutscenes. But they knew people would absolutely freak out if it was an in game elemnt, but people wanted it SO BAD so they gave it a shot. Now you have major freakouts over people running around in a freakin’ video game.

In a cutscene on halo 3, the mission “The Covanent” Chief does sprint as soon as he enters the citadel so you can’t say he has never sprinted before.
It has to do with gameplay. he runs fast enough in the game without sprint.
Why can’t people just accept that it is just game evolution? Yes, he sprints now! The sprint feature was added after Halo 3, so the new trilogy will have sprint. It’s obvious that he runs, why make a pointless debacle over an understood fact?

in halo 2 in that one level where he kills the prophet he sprints & jumps into the water
he is too concentrated getting headshots off of grunts and killing brutes, he didnt have time to sprint
