Chief is hiding from ONI/this new spartan

I just thought about it… Chief is hiding from this new spartan. I think his name is Lock. Even the arbiter helps him to find chief. WHY?

The cheif has no reason to hide from locke, cheif doesnt give a frick about that guy…but he wants to find the cheif, and arbiter is helping him.

So why does chief hide? Frank O’conner said last year that chief is hiding. So why not? Give me one good reason?

Good reason of why Chief is hiding from Locke? Are we sure that’s the name BTW?

No, we’re not sure (or are we? :P), and I think we’re still calling him Marlowe or something… some of us, at least. I dunno, I so confuzzled.

But a good reason why Chief is hiding from Locke/Marlowe/ONI Spartan/that awesome-looking new guy? I think I can think of one…

So, in the prologue scene of Halo 4, Halsey accuses her interrogator of wanting to replace John. And I think she’s on the right track. After Chief was presumed dead, the nefarious heads of ONI had a little over four years to work on plans for a new kind of 117 super-solider. Then, Chief returns, but… now he’s considered an old model, right? If ONI wants to replace John… and that Locke dude works for ONI… run, Johnny, run!

I think they also hinted a replacement for mc in spartan ops when halsey calls the new spartans failures,oni could have noticed this as well and could have tried creating a spartan with equal or greater mental and physical abilities than mc

Highly doubt it. He’s probably on some space Jesus mission. Hearing forerunner voices in his head and all. If he’s hiding, it’s solely because he believes he has a more important mission to accomplish.

All this talk of “replacing” chief. They just wanted to make the best soldiers they could, thinking chiefs gone. They have no reason to “replace” him, but they sure as hell want to make more of “him”.

If you’ve read the kilo 5 trilogy, you’ll know that the head of ONI is a spartan-II herself, and still loves her fellow spartan-IIs like brothers/sisters.

That, and the arbiters speech points entirely to finding chief because he seems to know how to help.
