Chief in spotlight?

Even though its too early to speculate in all seriousness, do you think that the Chief will be the playable character in pretty much all the missions given this supposedly is continuation to the main storyline that has mostly focused on the Chiefs perspective?

The question has 2 parts really, what you hope & then what you expect, that is if you expect anything really.

For instance, I dont expect anything yet but I hope for purely Chief missions.

That would be fine with me. I did enjoy playing the arbiter in Halo 3 though.

Keep him playable for Infinite’s campaign, then perhaps use other characters for possible (though still highly speculative) campaign expansions like a new iteration of Spartan Ops or side-story DLC.

This right here.

I’d really like for Halo: Infinite’s campaign to be on Chief (and Blue team!), while Spartan Ops-esque content could be for Osiris, or a Sangheili themed expansion, or new characters, even.

There’s so much potential with story-type DLC, it’s just a matter of capability or profitability.

well 343 has said chief is the main focus and I think they said hes gonna be the only playable character I think I could be wrong

I think it would be wise for 343 to focus solely on the Master Chief. At a minimum, they need to avoid squad based game-play in the campaign at all costs. It’s just not the same or as good as the originals imo. Halo thrives when you feel like you’re on your own against the world.

Well, if the Chief is the main character and the playable character in campaign it doesnt coumt out the possibility of different character like the Arbiter to be playable by player(s) 2-4.
Obviously as usual the singleplayer would be canon but personally I think that singleplayer is when i focus better on story while on co-op its more of a hanging around with pals.

That could work, though personally im not a fan of story based DLC in games in general.

So out of those 2 I would rather prefer a new Spartan Ops season. But even in that I think the players own created Spartan is best for that.
Otherwise when I would like to play as other characters is in such cases as spin off type of installments and as noncanonical player 2-4 in campaign like the Arbiter in Halo 3 as mentioned above.

As for fraction of the reasons I really dont like story based DLC is that they seem too hasty/short parts, especially when depicting a different perspective for example. Other thing could be the price/length ratio of usual such DLC and so on.
I would just much prefer a full game from different characters perspective than have development resources of a studio to put on a expansion for finished product.
