At the end of the day. Chief cant be around forever. It’s not about the character. It’s the universe. Also the biggest argument I have seen as of late is that Locke is too boring as a character. News flash to all those people who think that…Chief isn’t a whole hell of alot better. He rarely speaks and when he does it aint a whole hell of alot that he has to say.
Why riot? I don’t see that changing anything but a bunch o’ angry people. But Chief will never die. He’s tied up in my basement… Mwahaahahahahahahahahaha.

Master Chief has always been the head of the halo franchise and probably the most recognizable video game character on Xbox. But I do think there is always a time when the hero must die, although not in halo 5. Halo 6 is another story.
Even if Master Chief does die in Halo 5 or Halo 6, the game is going to move on to accomplish greater things. The death of chief might just expand the halo story even more.
If push comes to shove , i don’t believe that they would kill off the main antagonist. Chief is a character that many have emotional bonds with. Plus i believe that Chief is still going to be the main character for many Halos to come. And who knows in future halos Cortana and chief could be reunited.

Well, is probably a good reason, but I don’t believe that Master Chief can die in “Halo 6” or “Halo 7”. He must die when the franchise dies.

He didn’t it’s from the comics. Escalation issue #10 if memory serves me well.

I’ve honestly never cared for the Master Chief. In the games, he’s always come across as a bland, one dimensional, and by the numbers space marine. Halo 4 finally fleshed him out a bit, and made him seem more like an actual character, rather than a dull, (mostly) silent protagonist. If he did die, I know for a fact that I wouldn’t be torn up about it. I wasn’t when Keyes died, when Miranda died, when Johnson died, or even when Cortana died. I could never grow attached to any of those characters, so their deaths didn’t particularly affect me.

if chief dies,then locke dies too.and halo ends and no more halo 6 .
Haven’t played the campaign but have watched the first 3 and eighth mission. So far all we know is cortana is the enemy and if things do end up taking out the chief there is only one way he can go out right and that’s taking cortana with him. And them ending this fight together.
