The story can go so many places without killing the Master Chief off. It is an absurd line of thinking when you have to kill of a character for the overall story to go anywhere. 343i can just as easily gradually ease a new main protagonist into the game and let the Chief’s story become someone else’s while he goes off into the massive Halo Universe to do his own thing and make occasional cameos.
I don’t see it happening, at least not in Halo 5
If Chief dies, it’ll be during Halo 6. The last game of 343i’s first trilogy.
