I was just thinking about how crazy it will be if Master Chief has to destroy Cortana because of how rampant she will become. That will have to be one of the hardest things for him to do and also I can’t think of anything that would be more sad than having to continue the Halo games without Cortana.
Thinking about it, though, imagine the Chief fighting so hard only to have his progress stopped by Cortana. Eventually getting to the point where Master Chief realizes that in order to continue forward, he will have to sacrifice his friend to keep her from hindering his progress.
IMHO Cortana wont be destroyed, she will fused with some Forerunner AI technology so she improve her lifespan and hold all the data she have collected. Its too early to Cortana to die.

That’s how I figure it, more or less. Maybe she’ll lose some of her data or whatever and be a little less reliable, but I’m betting they’ll find some way to extend her lifespan.
Maybe Cortana will have to be destroyed, but my guess it would be at the end of the trilogy. But then again, I would’nt be suprised if they hook her up to some forerunner technolgy to keep her up and running. Or perhaps they’ll leave her be, and cortana will slowly become more and more dangerous. We wont know untill the game releases. I think the plot will be very interesting, and one of halo 4’s strong spots.
In all seriousness, that sounds extremely dark…a bit too dark for my liking. However it is possible. And as the quoted said, i would be very upset if he did kill her, but that’s just me.
I doubt that will ever happen, Cortana is as vital to Halo as Chief is, even more I would say. You could easily trade chief for any other pumped up dude in a green armor and you’d be ok, you wouldn’t even know if they fixed the voice ^^
Cortana on the other hand, you see her in every game, you talk to her and she talks to you (Chief never talks to you). It won’t happen, 343i/Ms ain’t that wild
