I think this would be a good way to show the differences in the armor the two characters have. I think Chief should still have this HUD, and Locke should of course have this one. This would give variety between the two of them instead of having the same looking HUD. Do you agree?

No. I think they will have the same HUDs, and I’d like it better that way anyway.
It makes sense to make them different considering they are two different types of Spartans. Chief should also require health packs while Locke doesn’t. It would mix things up.
I have a feeling the HUDs will look like they did in the trailers that featured them both in opposite roles.
In the twin trailers, they had different HUDs, so I think that this will be the case. Locke had a HUD reminiscent of the beta, with a continuous health bar, while Chief had segments to his. Likely the GEN2 has an improved bio foam injector system, or Chief’s got broken, or ran out of juice. Either way, I definitely think there will be gameplay differences between the two characters.
Definitely agree, especially since Locke is using an ONI version of GEN2 MJOLNIR platform and John is using GEN1 Mark VI with a 100% unique software suite that Cortana hand-wrote. Even in Halo 4 our multiplayer Spartans in their GEN2 had a different UI than Chief, further reinforcing Chief’s software’s uniqueness.
However, I also hope that Locke’s HUD is unique even among S-IV personnel. After all, general-issue GEN2 for S-IV commandos under the UNSC are likely running a more generalized OS than Locke, whereas Locke’s operating system is going to be tuned to his unusual task of hunting down a Spartan-II.
I don’t see how this could cause any harm, I’d like a visible difference between our protagonists.
I definitely believe the HUD’s will be different.
